On tap at brewpub 2/15/10. Pours a dark opaque brown. Thin tan head that disspates fairly quickly. Slightly skunky aroma with hints of coffee bitternees. Flavor is much nicer, with lots of nice roasted malt flavors with coffee in the finish. Medium mouthfeel. A little on the watery side (due to Oklahoma’s ridiculous 3.2 law), but not bad.

Tap at brewpub: Dark, dark brown with no head. This one is oak-aged by throwing oak chips into the brew while its fermenting. It has a mellow aroma of brown sugar. I was expecting some burnt, charcoal notes but did not find it in either the taste or the aroma. This is probably more in line with Black Butte, except that BB is 10 times better. It is smooth and tangy with a slick feel and a good finish.

This was the initial batch that was oak Aged. Dark pour, no head or lace. Sweet, very low carbonation. Fruity and lots of dark fruits. Some nice chocolate and caramel tones, with light smoke. Very good.

Roasty aroma, thin watery body. Tastes very similar to the stout, but not as dry. Has offensive citrus and sour notes as well.

Smoky and mediciney. Syrupy and sweet. Way too thin. Not that great at all.
