CanIHave4Beers (208), Des Moines, Iowa, USA Jul 7, 2008 Hahaha I remember one fall I drank a lot of this because I thought it was pretty good. Then by the next season I’d auctually drank oktoberfest beers, and it was just too sweet and overall kind of nasty.
drywall_man (201), Lake in the Hills, Illinois, USA Nov 1, 2006 Sampled at the brewpub. A dark carmel color and aroma. Minimal hops as expected, with the carmel present as expected in a Marzen. Not very much body for this style. Drinkable though. jaymobrown (1300), Chicago, Illinois, USA Feb 18, 2006 Copper color. Bitter. Cereal taste. A fairly average beer I guess, but it didn’t remind me of an Octoberfest. Nothing offensive here. Just an average brewpub beer to be had while eating burgers and watching the Game. Slight metallic, bitter finish in the very short end. Buttercup nose? General_Gao (2579), Iowa City, Iowa, USA Feb 11, 2006 Draught at the brewpub. I noticed that they have a marzen which has a different commercial description and I therefore assume that they are different recipes. It’s a bit unusual that it’s on tap in February. Clear amber color with thin tan head. Citrusy nose with no spicy or malty notes. Tart, citrusy, and sour flavor. Not a good beer.
