A balanced ale with a deep red hue, the Red features a smooth toasted malt flavor with a light fruitiness.

Amber pour with frothy tan head and lace. Aroma of caramel malt dominates. Sweet malt that changes to a perfumy finishing flavor that transitions to a good citrus bittter. Medium bodied but fizzy.

This isn’t all that interesting. The flavor is just a bit boring really. Nothing seems to stand out. Just kinda there.

Braudog said "solid" - and so it is, IMO. The Bricktown brewpub compares this to Fat Tire and I believe the Remington Red on draft is actually better than that. A red ale that’s bright as a penny, the color is excellent and taste is quite alright without fade.

[Tap] Sampled at Beer Fest VII in OKC. Pours a rich copper color with a nice looking beige head. Aroma of sweet caramel and toffee. Breads, some English hops, decent caramel and mild toffee in the taste. Odd dishrag-like notes in the finish. Maybe a dirty tap? Average body and mouthfeel. This would have been a solid beer without the off notes.

Draft at the brewpub. Steady delivery all the way ... red, which is a good start. Solid head. Clean caramel malt aroma. Drinks with a decent hoppy edge. Pretty good. (#4159, 6/29/2011)
