UPDATED: JUN 24, 2015 I was not terribly impressed with Bricktown in Dubuque. I am not totally surprised they went out of business. This was not well balanced. Serving: Tap

Pretty dark, too sweet, fairly detestable. But if you’re there in the winter, and you gotta get a beer... this one is probabally what you ought to go with.

Pint at the brewery. Winter 2006 version. Red and brown colored body. Clear/filtered appearance. Has a light spiced nose with notes of peppermint, nutmeg and candy sugar. Flavor is similar - lght on the palate, nothing too complex or interesting, with a tasty mild spiced cherry, wood and candy sugar flavor. Reminds me of a very tame version of Troegs Mad Elf. I could probably have written a review of this beer just from sticking my head in the brewpub - nothing too fancy, nothing too ’flavorful’ - brewed to not offend the Iowan palate.

UPDATED: MAY 28, 2006 Draught at the brewpub. Clear light orange color without much head. Smells distinctly of brown sugar. Brown sugar comes out again in the flavor along with some cinnamon and possibly nutmeg. Flavor is also somewhat reminiscent of malt extract.

UPDATED: JUL 16, 2005 Aroma of light mint and some malts. The taste is toast with some burnt sugar. Maybe a hint of mint. This poured a darker gold color. Not sure what was the goal with this beer.
