COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The "replicale" we brought down to Indianapolis for Winterfest 2010. Brewed with very aromatic malts. 4.6 ABV, 29 IBU

Tap: Nearly opaque with ruby highlights, fading creamy beige head. The aroma has notes of oats, chocolate, walnut, roasted barley, bready pale malts, with a hint of charred black malt, coffee and even some berry esters. The taste is that of your basic sweet Oatmeal Stout, bready and roasty with a touch of ashy black malt along with some dark fruit and coffee tones. A quick dash of hop bitterness does come out to play on occasion. For an Oatmeal Stout I honestly expected a heavier mouth feel, a bit thin for the style but easy to drink. This is okay, but since it was based off a "replicale" recipe, there is not much they could change about the beer. (Methinks that this current tap version does not have the coffee addition that was brought to the Winterfest)

This draft brew from the brewery poured a small sized head of foamy finely sized light brown colored bubbles that were mostly lasting and left behind a semi-opaque dark brown colored body and a poor lacing. The mild aroma was brown malt and dough. The mouth feel was weakly tingly at the start and at the finish. The flavor contained notes of mild dough roasted malt and dark malt. A decent one but not one that I would consider buying again.

"Good ol’ fashioned sweet style stout, no bells and whistles... just done right. Midnight brown body, thick and lasting tan head with streaks of lacing. Milk chocolate and coffee aroma with enough toasted/roasted malts to keep my sniffing. Medium and drinkable with a very robust creaminess. Dry roasted malt flavor that’s nutty, chocolaty, and velvety good."
