Tap at Apothecary Ale House - Morgantown. Pours clear black with a small, frothy beige head, medium retention with good lacing. Aroma is roast and coffee malt, prunes, smoke, and herbal hops. Flavor is malt dominant with dark fruits, light hops and bitterness, a clean lager character and a dry finish. Light body and medium carbonation.

Drake (8030) - Free Union, Virginia, USA - MAY 2, 2013
Draft at Pies & Pints Fayetteville. Pours a clear dark ruby color with a medium sized creamy white head. Good head retention. Aroma of chocolate, nuts, mild roasty notes, dark fruits. The taste is chocolate, mild raisin and nutty notes, mild hop finish. Nicely balance, low carbonation, medium bodied and a worthy 6400th rating!

Pours a brownish black color with virtually no head atop it. Leaves some lace on the way down. Smells of coffee and chocolate with a pilsner malt backbone. The aroma seems a bit heavy on the coffee for the style. The flavor follows the aroma fairly well, with a flavor that seems more porter like than lager like. Medium body with a moderate level of carbonation and a sweet sugary mouthfeel. Not a bad brew, but I’ve had better Schwatz before.

Tap. Light tan head, on a brownish amber murky hue. Light prunes, toast, nuttiness, and a slight sweetness in the aroma. Flavor follows suit, and fruity raisins dominate but not in a bad way. Lighter body with subtle carbonation.

On draft at The Greenbrier. Poured deep mahogany with light khaki head. Mild lacing. Nutty nose. Malty, roasty, with notes of chocolate. Slightly bitter finish. Surprisingly tasty.

Black, off white cover. Aroma is roasty, chocolate, possibly light dms. Taste is the same, the dms is still there it seems, but it is otherwise enjoyable.

Tap at pies and pints in charleston. Little aroma of deep malty sweetness. Pours a deep black with little to no head. Flavor is deep and roasty chestnut and hazelnut notes. Very tasty.
