Rune (2038), Tromsø, Norway Dec 18, 2008 Cask, half by air compressor dispense. Light brownish head over a very dark coloured body. Plain dark malty aroma. Flavour has got roasted grain and oatmeal up front, followed by hints of liquorice and flashes of dark fruits. Ends with bitter coffee notes. A little watery in the mouth. After this one we finished our drinking session at the fantastic Bow Bar with the delicious BrewDog Punk IPA, which has not got a separate cask entry [Edinburgh 13.11.2008]. fiulijn (6110), Como; Lausanne (CH); Malmö (SWE), Italy Dec 14, 2008 Cask Conditioned at The Castle, Furnival St., London, 4.5% ABV
The color is almost black. Mild aroma of roasted malt and cardboard. Soft mouthfeel (also because of the lack of carbonation), some roasted malt and chocolate flavor, not aggressive, with a hint of liquorice, yeast and cardboard. Not bad. hughie (2458), Bedford, Bedfordshire, England Oct 27, 2008 Cask, gravity, at Wellington Arms Winter Festival of Beer. Very dark brown. Delightful aroma: leathery, dark and old. I just sat there sniffing it for ages. People began talking. Taste is sour and ashy. Mid bitter finish. Very good. oh6gdx (6583), Vaasa, Finland Aug 15, 2008 Cask@GBBF2008.
