Commercial Description:
Cask; Regular.
"Brewed in the heart of Scotland using the finest malts, pure Scottish water and wild oats. This traditional stout has a creamy, toasted oatmeal flavour and is gently hopped. Complex roast malt aromas and a smooth silky aftertaste are characteristics of this ale. This stout is as mysterious and compelling as the Glen it is named after."

Had this cask-conditioned beer on draught in a Glasgow pub. It was absolutely amazing. It must be the freshest beer I’ve ever had. Dark, creamy, fresh roasted coffee, oats and licorice.

Cask at the Ipswich Beer Festival 2004, gravity dispense. Colour is black / dark ruby. Lovely aroma of dark fruits / prunes, English pipe tobacco, chocolate and coffee. Flavour is roast barley and oats on a surprisingly fruity background. Very drinkable. Fruity aftertaste - not what you expect from a stout, but nice! (And the beer is vegan - as if I cared!)

Cask, gravity, at Wellington Arms Winter Festival of Beer. Very dark brown. Delightful aroma: leathery, dark and old. I just sat there sniffing it for ages. People began talking. Taste is sour and ashy. Mid bitter finish. Very good.

Half pint gravity fed at the Battersea Beer Festival, very dark, even syrupy, with a bubbly beige head. A strong rich malty aroma with chocolate. A smooth palate with chocolate malt flavours and a rich finish. A good stout.
