In Norwegian tradition alcoholic beverages are sent across the globe to benefit from the temperature variations one experiences when crossing the equator. This beer was brewed at Bridge Road Brewers in Beechworth, Australia. Maturation took place in red wine barrels on its journey to Norway. Blending and packaging was carried out by Nøgne Ø.

Editor’s note: Brewed at Bridge Road, bottled at Nøgne Ø. Shipped to Norway in barrels previously used for red wine.

It pours a dark brown color, not clean, with medium sized head, reducing quickly to a thin layer. The aroma is mild; there is some roasted malt with a vinous vein. Good body strength, round mouthfeel; it has a good flavor of pumpernickel, by having a combination of dark malts and mild sourness; the sweetness is moderate, it has a light red wine feeling and a light touch of liquorice and spices; the bitterness level is correct and the alcohol is well controlled.

It’s a very good beer; the maltiness is very rich; it reminds me of some Struise beer.
But the price tag (89kr for 25cl) is ridiculous; just because two breweries are involved, do they both want to earn a premium?

25cl thanks to Cunningham. Nice dark brown color with thin persistent brownish head. Body is medium and carbonation mediumly fizzy. Taste is medium bitter, medium to low sweet, and also some light sourness in here. Aroma is caramel, wood, red wine, light yeast, herby, liquor all around. Very nice beer!

Clear very dark red pour with a large off-white head. Aroma is hugely red wineish, cherry, port. Some alcohol too when warming up more. Taste is more red wine, sweet but good. Alcohol warms up in the end. Very different from what I've ever had before. Weird, but good :) ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Reddish brown clear beer with huge beige head leaving lacing on the glass. Sour red wine like aroma. Flavor is also sour red wine berryish with some sweetness. Long finish with alcohol warming but not tasting much. Full and medium carbonated palate. Tastes more like red wine than beer
