Bottle - 500ml.Beautiful, cloudy blond body with a thick, lasting white foamy head. Fresh, sharp hoppy aroma with coriander and citrusy hints. Alcohol is very well hidden. Its sharp hoppy taste carries coriander, citrusy, yeasty, and some grainy notes. Ends with a long, dry, robust bitter/herbal finish. Wow!

Small bottle at Cardinal. Hazy golden body with an inch thick frothy white head. Grassy, flowery gooseberry spicy saison yeast notes on the nose. Meaty, gooseberry hop juice in the mouth; still, more complex due to the yeast. Medium bodied. Nice spicy yeast notes opening up as it heats. Pretty good stuff. Quite soft in the mouth.

Apparently the Bridge Rd version of Nøgne Ø India Saison. Growler. Cloudy gold with a modest white head. Aroma of grapefruit, white pepper, gooseberry, almonds. Quite light-bodied. Taste has some light dough, some stone and tropical fruit, lots of grapefruit and pepper. Touch of windex. Saison character is there but apart from the pepper it’s pretty subdued and a bit clean for me. Nice dry finish is bitter and spicy.

Straw coloured body, slightly hazy and with a lasting head. Grapefruit and light spice on the aroma. Fruit and spice in the taste, medium body, very refreshing and without noticeable alcohol.

Pretty unique brew with a 14 karat body sporting a tightly packed ivory cap. Nice citrus and tropical fruit notes, clean and crisp green leafy qualities, and even a slightly sourdough, earthy, cheesy addition. Refreshing and well crafted.

Pours a medium golden color with two fingers of white foam. Nice aromas of tangerine, candied orange peel, mango and earthy peppered yeast. Palate follows with a dry rustic saison backbone, nice yeast profile, layers of tropical fruit forward hops, citrus, floral fieldgrass and a lingering bitterness draws out the finish.

Draught from Blind Tiger. Classic saison pour of slightly orange gold, nice floral aroma; yeasty and clean hops bitterness were the primary flavors.

A little late than never so into a chalice it goes. Looks the goods; Billowing plume of white atop a hazy, sunny gold body. Very fine, very intermittent carbonation rise slowly to atmosphere. Head needs to be chewed off and manages a thick Belgian lace. Nose has a hint of berry bubblegum and pear drops over notes of grapefruit and orange pulp, mango, pine resin and spicy alcohol. From the plump aroma it is actually quite soft on the palate, dry and light. The carbonation prickly to make it bounce with gusto. The finish is bitter, herbaceous and long with a dose of alcohol warmth and spice. Green peppercorn taste on the palate amongst a juicy white wine tang that lingers. It is the brash hops that dominate, though, and are a little on the abrasive side. Overall I’m impressed with the aroma but the fierce hopping prohibits much of that hitting the olfactories on the way through. Not bad considering it is a few months over the due! Pours a cloudy golden orange color with a massive three finger pillowy white head that slowly settles into a thick lasting ring. Streaks of soapy lacing left behind. Dank, floral hop aroma with a good balance of earthy and citrus/tropical fruit notes along with some funky farmhouse yeast. Slightly grassy with resinous pine notes as well as grapefruit, pineapple and orange peel. The earthy hop component is nicely complimented by the Saison yeast that gives off hints of grass, straw and hay. I’m also picking up some bread and biscuit malt. Slightly oxidized with lots of tight carbonation which hurts the mouthfeel a bit. There’s a blast of dry, sticky hops up front which provide a prominent dry bitterness that lingers over the sweeter notes and pale malt into a bone dry finish. The hop profile is too one dimensional for my liking with all dry, soily, earthy pine needle flavor. The sweet citrus/tropical fruit notes found in the nose are almost invisible with only subtle citrus rind and grapefruit. The farmhouse yeast also takes a back seat providing subtle funk that’s overshadowed by the hop bitterness. Some light estery fruit notes toward the finish as well as some bread, biscuit and caramel. An interesting concept but too aggressively hopped for my preference. Could use some more sweetness and farmhouse/Saison character for balance.
