Using an all Aussie line up, low bitterness balanced hop and malt profile, this is a great session beer, drink in multiples of six.

Poured (with sediment) a translucent pale golden amber colour with a three- to four-finger white foamy head that retained OK for a while but then collapsed to a thin bubble line. Poor lacing. Moderate to high carbonation. Aroma of malt and slight hops. Taste of sweet malt followed by soft hops. No noticeable bitterness. Light body. Short smooth and sweet finish

This beer was a little disappointing to say the least after having the pale ale. This beer lacked everything that that beer had. Flavour, aroma, depth. Just a little to bland and unfortunatly having the pale ale before hand this one couldn’t stand up.

ALLOVATE (2108) - Butler, AUSTRALIA - OCT 12, 2012
Tasting from 2009.
Hazy once the yeast went in this settled a tarnished copper in colour with an abundance of carbonation. Continuously expanding head lifts a good inch out the glass and’s to be nibbled off before tasting. Predominately malty aroma; earthy, topsoil, and deeply gritty with a strange hint of rye bread and savoury fruit. Palate is malt driven, well rounded, sandy yet smooth and foamy in mouthfeel. There is a second rate, grassy hop note and subdued bitterness before a lingering grainy, malt flavour. Dusty and dry overall; lacking in esters. A simple brew! (33cL, no date stamp, Vintage Cellars, Perth)

The aroma is an intriguing mix of spice, damp earth, toffee and some floral notes. The pleasant smells of this beer belie the simplistic, somewhat strange combination of sweet malt, yeast and hops. The sudsy palate gives way to a hoppy aftertaste which is bitter and metallic, but not at all fruity.

Bottle- Pours a slightly hazy copper color with a decent head that fades to lacing. Mild aroma of citrus with grain and a bit herbal. Taste is also mild with a bit of hop crispness, just a bit of malt sweetness and grain. Mild bitterness and a dry finish. Fairly light body, crzisp and quite smooth and clean. Just not a lot of character. Easy drinker, but pretty ordinary.

A-- Poured a hazy straw yellow. Lots of carbonation, with a lot of small bubbles on the sides of the glass and a large white 2 finger head that slowly became a large layer of film that left uneven, streaky, lacing on the glass. Good head retention. S-- Sweet biscuit smell, carmel, and a little bit of a plastic smell to this. There is a little bit of a floral hop smell to this but the malt and the plastic smell hide it. T-- A sweet, carmel, hop bite. Soft taste but get a mixture of soft hops, sweet biscuit and carmel. Get a bit of a soapy taste as well in this. As warms up becomes a soapy lemon taste M-- Highly carbonated and creamy. Much more of a sweet floral taste in the mouth. No real bitterness to this and thin and watery. As it gets warmer it gets more soapy, taste and feel wise and seems more like a typical Australian Lager. Not a good way to go. Best guess is this is infected all the way through. Not very enjoyable and only finished half the beer

330ml Bottle. Not much going on with this beer, but saying that it is good on those hot Aussie days and many can be drank.

From a 330ml bottle on 13/12/2011. Pours a cloudy pale golden with a minimal head. Has a curious aroma of chemicals, stale fridge air, and some light fruit and honey notes. In the mouth, there’s a mild fruity sweetness, some yeasty flavour and a mild hop presence. Has an amateur home brew feel to it. Quite an ordinary effort.

Pours with a fairly big head. Cloudy golden colour. Not very hoppy at all though not an unpleasant taste. Not the greatest beer ever made though not unpleasant.

Lightly hopped, lightly malted, excessively sour dross. This beer is absolutely disgusting.
