Tap, named Bavarian Wheat. Interesting beer. Aroma is wheat, and citrus. Flavour is sweet, with a touch of sourness. Oily in the palate, and medium-bodied. Dark yellow and cloudy, with a frothy white head.

So close..Looks a treat, identical to german standards. Nose is banana and clove. In the mouth it is smooth and decent drinking, although had a slightly astringent aftetaste. Still the best aussie hefe I have had.

Bottle labeled as ’Bavarian Wheat’. Pours dark golden with small lively white head. A spot on spicy aroma of clove, banana ester and bread. Same flavour. Soft palate and low bitterness. Spicy finish. A good example of a hefe.
3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 Davros (1021) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - AUG 3, 2009
UPDATED: SEP 3, 2009 Murky amber pour, darker than I was expecting. Nice head but unfortunately it didn’t last.
Wheat is apparent in aroma along with (probably noble) hops, yeast, and a bit of cloves. Not much in the way of banana. There’s some lemony character, not sure if that’s from hops or just the wheat. Hint of banana are noticeable later on if you really search for it.
Flavours are similar: very wheat, some of that lemon character, and what I presume to be noble hops. Some cloves, but again, lacking in banana.
Refreshing light body, but the carbonation is a bit too prickly.

...mine was labeled as Bavarian Wheat, but I think it’s the same one. Anyway, poured a murky light orange, with a small white head that was mostly lasting. Cloves, orange, wheat malt, yeast with hints of bananna on the nose. Flavors were similar, with a nice yeasty body, some vanilla, and a spicy clove kick. Was a bit thin, but one of the better attempts at this style by Australian Brewers, worth trying.

Bottle (330ml). Poured a browny golden orange with a rocky, off-white head which was mostly diminishing. Aroma was packed with banana cake and bubblegum with sweet yeasty malts, cinnamon, straw and some apples. Flavor was a light, slightly acidic/sour hop bitterness with sweet yeasty malts, tart grapes, pears, vanilla , hint of cinnamon and a dry apple like finish.
