Big chocolate, roasted and mocha notes are the key to this style. A wise country football coach once said “theres no point half doing something”. And in making this porter we’ve taken his advice on board, our Robust Porter uses plenty of roast barley and chocolate malt to give you a big porter that wont leave you asking for more.

Try this one with dark chocolate and liquorice. Bridge Roads Porter, like many of its beers, pulls no punches. Make no mistake, the Robust Porter is big and bold, yet its smooth raosty texture makes it one to convert the non-dark drinker. Match it with rich chocolate deserts, cold winter nights or freshly shucked oysters.

Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of Ungstrup. Pours a dark brown with a vague reddish tint. Sweet roasty nose, some overripe dark fruits. Medium body, carbonation is a little excessive. Subtle roast in the overripe dark fruit kinda way. Subdued bitterness. Easy. 131112

Bottle. Pours a dark black colour Aroma. smells of roasted malt backed by a nice smokiness and slight syrupy sweetness. Taste. a nice smokiness is there throughout, and what i can best describe as a roasted cocoa and roasted malts in general. Overall. nothing too special, but still drinkable.

UPDATED: AUG 2, 2015 Pours with an aggressive big bubble head that manages to dissipate in to a dense long lasting caramel foam. Smoke dominates the aroma promising more. Slightly thin mouth feel and the smoke is there but very nicely balanced off by the sweet malt. Chocolate and hazelnut linger in the long finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle@oldbank. Black, frothy tan head. Chocolate, sweet roast, dark berries on nose. Well carbonated. Some sours. Roasty, slight ashy with a slight aceto finish. Flavourful ok porter. Dry, bit harsh really. Might be unintended though, considering the acidicy, carbonation and all. Ok like this too.

An easy going porter. Would appeal to curious beer geek. Coffee an ash on nose. Roasted in taste. Really easy on tongue and soft at back end. Good entry porter. 330ml. 5.2%. 1.4std drks. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. This is a pretty good porter. A bit hard to find in Sydney, but if I see it again I’ll revisit for sure.

UPDATED: AUG 4, 2015 Tasting at Plonk. Strong coffee roasted flavours and bitterness dominate. Okay. Rerating 4 August 2015 from bottle won in Durham raffle. Pour dark brown black with small tan head that disappears quickly. Huge dark malty aroma. medium carbonation, roastiness, slight astringency that I prefer absent in these styles. Pretty nice.

Enjoyable richly flavoured porter. Dark colour, light had, coffee tones without any burnt characters. Clan palate. Yum, try more.
