2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 donfardz64 (538) - Wellington, New Zealand, - DEC 14, 2009
Pours black, ruby edges. Sweet, roast aroma with a bit of smoke.
Spritzy mouthfeel, perhaps over-carbed. Though the body is thin, some nice roast malt and cocoa comes though. Ends up a bit soda-ish because of carbonation. Average at best.

Nice black pour, smells a little of coffee and tastes of mocha. Easily drinkable, how ever fond to become slightly watery toward the end.

In bottle. Pours a very dark brown colour with a fair light tan head. An oaty aroma with roasty malt, coffee, chocolate and liquorice. Similar flavours with moderate carbonation, light CO2 prickle and a long roasty linger. OK.

Bottle. Pours dark brown with light tan coloured head. Aromas of roasted grain and some milk chocolate. Flavours show plenty of roast grain bitterness. Slightly sour finish. Medium mouthfeel. OK beer
2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 Jessop (126) - AUSTRALIA - APR 12, 2011
Served far too cold off the tap at Bridge road brewers, however I was quite impressed with this beers flavour and appearance. it poured with a lovely little tan coloured head, densely packed.
The flavour was rich and decadent boasting roasted coffee and choc flavours, certainly a brew to watch out for.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20 ndon (857) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - FEB 9, 2011
On tap at the Local Taphouse, Sydney. One of the ’showcase’ beers from Bridge Rd that they had on. Pours a dark brown, almost black with a two finger tan head. Coffee, dark chocolate, toffee and a light smokiness came through in the aroma. Flavours of dark chocolate and burnt toffee, with just a hint of the coffee that came through in the aroma. A slightly thinner body than I had expected, but drank quite easy.
2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 TheGrandMaster (2313) - Auckland, NEW ZEALAND - MAY 16, 2010
Draught (as ’Bridge Rd Robust Porter’). Found it a bit thin. The malt had predominantly grainy burnt characters. Meh...

I wouldn’t have thought it, because I don’t like coffee - but I quite enjoyed this beer. Very dark colour, with a brown head. You can really smell the roasted elements to it. Strong coffee flavour, which sticks around long after the sip. Nice going down. Good beer.

Bottle (I had this as the Robust Porter): Quite black with a thick brown head. It positively gushed out of the bottle, which wasn’t a good sign to begin. Thankfully the nose repaired some of this damage; thick, oily, and roasty with some very dark caramel and salty vegemite notes. I liked it! In the mouth I founf this a bit chalky, though with plenty of dark roasty, burnt flavours (sometimes wandering into the charcoal territory). There were some woody flavours too, which weren’t so great, but overall the heartiness won out. Pleasant enough.
