COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bridge Road Brewers have created their own take on a more traditional beer style - India Pale Ale, originally a heavily hopped beer developed for the long haul from England to India by boat. Fresh hops were added to the barrel and the alcohol was bolstered to ensure the beer went the distance on the high seas. Bling, is a huge beer, with all the bells and whistles. This ale is armed to the teeth with hops and studded with 24 carrot modified malts. At Bridge Road we’ve gone all out to make an IPA that screams hops and malt but still keeps balance in mind. Try matching this beer it with anything spicy or enjoy this malt and hop mouth full on its own. We love it, and hope you can too.

Bottled. From the ’Beer Cafe, Melbourne, Aus’. Good body and flavour in the full bodied, US, style. Lovely oily length. Good shape and structure on the palate. Length consistently long.

one of my favourite beers, easily a session beer for me, just the right amount of punch with the hops and the malt backbone to support it all.....

Out of a bottle into a tulip glass. Murky brown colour with a biege head. Aroma of malt, quite pleasant and not as over powering as similar brews. Rich, toasted malt flavour with a bitter after taste. I like this one, quite pleasant.

Interesting beer this one. Off white/beige head, dense. Murky brown. Not the prettiest to look at, but the taste makes up for that! Aroma is fairly subdued; malt aromas the more noticeable, rather than hops. But hey, how old is the bottle? And considering the storage conditions (shelf), it’s traveling alright. I really wish local bottlo’s would put all their fragile (read:craft) beers in the fridge. It would hold them in good stead, as well as continue the good name of the brewery...Anyway, I digress.... Mouthfeel of the beer is bang on. Good carbonation, pleasing bitterness in the aftertaste, and albeit out of character for a fairly responsible ABV, a little alcohol remains... Overall, IMO, I’d like higher a ABV, a little less malt and more hop character. But this is still a great beer! And one I would happily buy again.

Bottle. Pours with an off-white- tan head over a read brown hazy body. Aroma of caramel, toast and marmalade. Taste of marmalade, spicey, floral and with a mpdest bitter finish. Medium to full bodied.

UPDATED: DEC 19, 2011 Bottle. Murky copper, tight beige head that fades quite a bit. Savoury malt and hop aroma. Hop aroma is predominantly grass and citrus, but there are pine, flowers and herbal touches too. Medium to full body. Fruity sweetness with big but subtle bitterness. Perhaps the finish could linger longer.

On tap at Hashigo Zake. Pours hazy amber, good IPA colour. Hoppy malty aroma, zesty hops but a bit of sulfur.
Flavour is well balanced between zesty hops and malt body. A great lingering bitterness on the finish makes this a solid IPA.

Tap. Very hoppy, great taste. Aroma of grass, and bitter flavour that lasts long. Palate is velvety, and it has a medium body. Orange colour, with a frothy white head.

Bottle. Pours a light reddish copper colour with a creamy beige head that lasts for a little while. Aroma has plenty of floral hops as well as notes of toffee, malt, cinnamon and some tropical fruits. Flavour is not as strong as the nose suggests but has hints of citrus, malt, toffee and some bitterness at the end. Mouthfeel is on the light side but still has enough body to hold it all together. Easy to drink and not overly sweet or bitter, this is a nice example of the style without pushing any boundaries.
