Bottle 33 cl. Pours a hazy yellow with a white head. Somewhat herbal aroma. Medium body, carbonation is a little much. Some chestnut accents although not as distinct as in French chestnut varities. No bitterness whatsoever. 100912

Light orange. Sweet grain with a bit of chestnut in the aroma. Light chestnut, grain, sweet toasty malts odd and interesting.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Hazy light yellow with a small and frothy white head. The aroma carries some citrus and grassy hop character with toasted malt notes. Flavour is fairly sweet malt, grassy, citrus. Low level of bitterness. Decent but not what I’d hoped for.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Great that the nut comes through on first sense. The creamy, nutty texture comes through on taste too. Definitely malty that gives a hint of peanut butter. Beautiful in mouthfeel and a low impact but refreshing end. Be nice beer early in dinner party/BBQ. 5.0%. 1.3std dr. 330ml.

Bottle. And an old one at that. Not my favourite bridge road, I didn’t get much of the chestnuts but I’ll have to try again fresh.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Tasting at Plonk. I guess I could taste a little of the chestnut nuttiness but it was still a pretty unremarkable pilsner. NB I’m not a big lager/pilsner fan.

I don’t think I got what I was promised from this beer. Yes, it is quite interesting on paper, but I didn’t taste the chestnuts. I personally think nuts work better in darker beers, specially brown ales.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle from cellar door (October 2014). Hazy pale golden, minimal white head, subtle nutty aroma/flavour over a basic light pilsener, bread/toast, grassy hops, low bitterness, quite dry finish, light body. Nice enough.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
From 330 ml bottle. Pours a slightly hazy straw yellow with a thin white head. Light aromas of noble hops, flowers and cut grass. Flavour is malty at the front before a crisp hop bite in the mid-palate. I think I can get the chestnut at the back end, gut it’s quite light. Clean finish. Not a bad lager really.

Hazy pale gold beer, little white head. Crispy palate, carbonated bite. Minerals, semi dry. Semi sweet pale malt. Super light citric hops. Forensic trace of chesnut, hardly there. Dry finish. Not bad but the chesnut and galaxy hops are hardly worth a mention,
