COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A unique Australian Pilsner, brewed in Beechworth from Chestnuts grown locally in the Beechworth and Stanley hills. The Chestnut Pilsner also uses Galaxy hops from the Rostrevor Hop Garden in the nearby Ovens Valley. As with any of the worlds best pilsner the most important ingredients is time, and we have allowed this beer plenty of it, with each batch aged for around 3 months before release. Bridge Road Brewers have created a gem of a beer through experimenting with local produce, a truly local brew!
This unique lager is very pale and presents a crisp ípilsnerí like profile combined with a distinct nutty character owing to the use of Chestnuts in the mash. The crisp clean profile of this beer lends itself to the summer months and can be paired with seafood or lighter dishes.

Bottle 33 cl. Pours a hazy yellow with a white head. Somewhat herbal aroma. Medium body, carbonation is a little much. Some chestnut accents although not as distinct as in French chestnut varities. No bitterness whatsoever. 100912

Great that the nut comes through on first sense. The creamy, nutty texture comes through on taste too. Definitely malty that gives a hint of peanut butter. Beautiful in mouthfeel and a low impact but refreshing end. Be nice beer early in dinner party/BBQ. 5.0%. 1.3std dr. 330ml. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. And an old one at that. Not my favourite bridge road, I didnít get much of the chestnuts but Iíll have to try again fresh.

Tasting at Plonk. I guess I could taste a little of the chestnut nuttiness but it was still a pretty unremarkable pilsner. NB Iím not a big lager/pilsner fan.

I donít think I got what I was promised from this beer. Yes, it is quite interesting on paper, but I didnít taste the chestnuts. I personally think nuts work better in darker beers, specially brown ales.

Bottle from cellar door (October 2014). Hazy pale golden, minimal white head, subtle nutty aroma/flavour over a basic light pilsener, bread/toast, grassy hops, low bitterness, quite dry finish, light body. Nice enough.

From 330 ml bottle. Pours a slightly hazy straw yellow with a thin white head. Light aromas of noble hops, flowers and cut grass. Flavour is malty at the front before a crisp hop bite in the mid-palate. I think I can get the chestnut at the back end, gut itís quite light. Clean finish. Not a bad lager really.

Hazy pale gold beer, little white head. Crispy palate, carbonated bite. Minerals, semi dry. Semi sweet pale malt. Super light citric hops. Forensic trace of chesnut, hardly there. Dry finish. Not bad but the chesnut and galaxy hops are hardly worth a mention,

Aroma: Very weak nutty smells, not much present. Appearance: Light golden and cloudy, no head? Taste: Light nutty characteristics, light hoppiness. Palate: Medium carbonation and very smooth. Overall: Average pilsnerwith interesting light nutty flavour, not amazing but very smooth and drinkable.

Draft at Taps Beer Bar, Kuala Lumpur. Poured a hazy light amber with a frothy white head. The aroma is light with grassy notes. The flavour is weak bitter and slightly watery grass with some spicy nettle there too. Sounds awful doesnít it, but it was actually quite drinkable and it has that typical Bridge Road style that seems to run through many of their beers. The palate was smooth and with a little spice to round it off nicely. A "lager" ? Really ? This beer really grew on me the more I drank. Needs to be served cool.

Bottle. Cloudy vibrant golden beer with a strong white head. The aroma is fruity with yeasty bitterness, and the flavour is dry with hops and light yeasty bitterness. Overall a really nice beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
