COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A unique Australian Pilsner, brewed in Beechworth from Chestnuts grown locally in the Beechworth and Stanley hills. The Chestnut Pilsner also uses Galaxy hops from the Rostrevor Hop Garden in the nearby Ovens Valley. As with any of the worlds best pilsner the most important ingredients is time, and we have allowed this beer plenty of it, with each batch aged for around 3 months before release. Bridge Road Brewers have created a gem of a beer through experimenting with local produce, a truly local brew! This unique lager is very pale and presents a crisp ’pilsner’ like profile combined with a distinct nutty character owing to the use of Chestnuts in the mash. The crisp clean profile of this beer lends itself to the summer months and can be paired with seafood or lighter dishes.

Pours pale yellow with a small head. Nose shows grassy, lemony hops and definite chestnut, along with some metallic malt. The grassy character is a bit strong. Similar flavours, lots more lemon and nutty notes. Grainy malt still remains unfortunately. Carbonation is moderately high, goes well with the light flavours.

330ml Bottle. Lovely nutty aromas. a crisp and refreshing lager, with a nice little twist. Not a big chestnut but very subtle, which works well.

Pours a yellow colour with a white head. Aroma is malt with earthy tones and hops. Taste is also malt with just hints of nuts leading to a decent bitter finish. Pretty well balanced. Pretty decent.

Bottle from Mane Liquor. Pours light straw in colour with a small white head on it. Sweet malts and a subtle nuttiness. Sweet biscuity malts in the taste. Again with the subtle nut tone in there. Not bad, didn’t mind it at all

Bottle at the beermentv Hair of the Dog Breakfast at Beer DeLuxe. Had me a bit bemuddled as to how much I liked this. It was a difficult ’nut to crack’... The chesnut was quite subtle, but was definitely there. Quite sweet though, and I didn’t get a lot of crispness. But a bit like a new friend - it would be fun to go back and get to know more and more.

Bottle 330ml. Nice and different. Aromas of vanilla, citrus, dry fruit, and also bacon. Taste is sweet, with a hint of sourness, and good length. Palate is oily, and medium bodied. Pale, with a thin head.

Bottle. Pours a very light straw colour with a minimal white coloured head. Faint sweet aromas with a odd nuttiness. Dont really like it. Flavour wise there is a little biscuity malt sweetness and a little resiny bitterness. Mouthfeel is very thin. Didnt really like this one.

Pale straw in colour with almost no head but good carbonation. Aroma is slightly sweet with some fruitiness and not much in the way of a nutty character. the nust comes more through on the palate, especially in the finish of the beer. A nice easy drinking pils though.

A bit pedestrian. No doubt has decent pilsner structure with a grassy hop element however there is a piney trait which points to mild infection. Unfortunately this pops up with some regularity in BR’s lighter beers. The chestnut character is hard to pick although to be fair there’s a mild nutty note. Don’t go out of your way.
