Bridge Road have used a brand new hop strain called ’Enigma’ for this New World Pilsner. Inspired by the frequently excellent New Zealand pilsners, it is a pilsner that uses the sort of hopping rates and methods brewers typically use when creating a US style Pale Ale. It is a single batch brew only, meaning there are less than 20 kegs in existence.

Clear pale yellow poor. Interesting aroma of tropical like fruit and slight spice. Was a nice refreshing pilsner, easily drinkable. Flavour was interesting nice and made for a great tasting beer. Would be happy to have again over summer.

On tap at The Archive. Quite hoppy, don’t know if it’s the variety of hops or how they made it. I liked it, big fruity aroma and flavours.
