Our single hop IPA highlights the character of a locally grown hop variety, Galaxy.

We have added generous amounts of whole hop flowers to this brew, both in the kettle and the conditioning tank. Galaxy, itís out of this world!

Flavoursome, peachy keen IPA. Might be better with a bit more alcoholic oomph. Copper with a short head. Oodles of white peach on the nose - very nice if thatís your bag. Light caramel notes, passionifruit and mango. Slightly brittle mouthfeel but gets away with it. Tastes like a superior Pacific Ale, which is not a huge recommendation in my book. Summer-fruit salad. Didnít seem that bitter, considering BR rates the hop profile as 9 out of 10. Slightly underwhelming. Iím just not enthusiastic about Galaxy as a stand-alone hop.

Pours a hazy golden orange from the bottle with fluffy off-white head that leaves good lace. Aroma of nice tropical zest, a hint of earth, and hops citrus notes. Taste is less resinous, but most of the same tones, a hint of the malty backbone. Bittersweet finish, clean but thick, not bad.

Sampled at the Festival, poured plum red with nice head. Notes were ashy grain water, muddled galaxy, and spicy pine. Assertive bitterness with a medium to fuller mouthfeel.

Bottle poured a hazy amber with a lingering ring of amber foam. Aromas of caramel, grapefruit, light orange zest and a hint of tropucal fruit. Palate was light bodied and crisp with a dry finish. Flavors of bread, earthiness, grapefruit and pine with a crisp dry bitter lingering earthy finish.

Bottle from City Beer. Pours light amber with a thick white head and a floral aroma. There is a fairly bitter caramel malt flavor with a more bitter finish. Not real balanced, but lots of flavor for relatively low abv.

Color has a golden, murky appearance with foamy lacing. My first time isolating the Galaxy hop in an IPA. I find it to be rather dry but this IPA has some fruity passionfruit and considerable malt to balance it into a good offering. I still think the Galaxy alone is an acquired taste.

Draft. Amber beer with a cream head. Earth and light grapefruit aroma. Light grapefruit and earth flavor with malt. Medium bodied. Some bitterness. Light grapefruit and earth linger with light malt.

Didnít really pour with much head and what was there quickly faded. A deep golden colour and pours fairly cloudy. There is an unmistakable Galaxy hops aroma and on the first sip I found it too bitter, but after drinking a little more it seems better balanced. The bottle says is has a medium malt profile but I donít really get this. Overall a good beer but not great.

330ml bottle into glass. Grape aroma, slightly white wine like. Translucent copper beer with solid white head. Slight spritzy mouthfeel. Clean bitter lemon finish. Good, not great.

Lovely aroma in cloudy amber liquid. The flag vour that follows is similarly excellent, showcases the single hop well, and is definitely worth another.
