Our single hop IPA highlights the character of a locally grown hop variety, Galaxy.

We have added generous amounts of whole hop flowers to this brew, both in the kettle and the conditioning tank. Galaxy, it’s out of this world!

Draft. Amber beer with a cream head. Earth and light grapefruit aroma. Light grapefruit and earth flavor with malt. Medium bodied. Some bitterness. Light grapefruit and earth linger with light malt.

Didn’t really pour with much head and what was there quickly faded. A deep golden colour and pours fairly cloudy. There is an unmistakable Galaxy hops aroma and on the first sip I found it too bitter, but after drinking a little more it seems better balanced. The bottle says is has a medium malt profile but I don’t really get this. Overall a good beer but not great.

Lovely aroma in cloudy amber liquid. The flag vour that follows is similarly excellent, showcases the single hop well, and is definitely worth another.

330ml bottle. Hazy amber with a thick dense white head. Aroma is big on passionfruit as befits the single use of Galaxy hops but there are also piney and grapefruit notes on top of a caramel malt base. Flavour has light malts and a firm lingering bitterness. Palate is light-medium bodied with average carbonation and oily mouthfeel. An education in Australian hops!.

Pours a cloudy orange yellow with a firm foamy white head. Very aromatic with loads of pine and passionfruit, some astringent grapefruit. The taste is a little disappointing however, as the aromas are not followed through in the flavour. The galaxy doesn’t quite add enough bitterness to make it a well balanced IPA, causing the taste to be largely malt flavour and fruit aroma driven. There is something evidently missing from this beer, but if it’s purpose was to showcase the properties of the galaxy hop, the brewers have succeeded

Straw yellow poor with a superb fluffy white head. Aroma of strong tropical and passion fruit. Crisp full flavour. Taste is nice and bitter. Great beer with some full on aroma distinctive to the galaxy hop.

Bottle. Definitely the second best of the beer school pack. Very fruity, reminds me of stone and wood pacific ale (not surprisingly given the hop).
