COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bridge Road Brewers have created their own German style hefeweizen that conjures memories of German beer halls, giant pretzels and busty Bavarian girls in traditional dresses. We have sourced the best ingredients from Germany to provide you with a great hefeweizen brewed here in Beechworth. This cloudy beer, with low bitterness and banana aromas, makes for a great match with seafood and mild dishes.

Pours a typical hazy colour with little real head, On the nose it boasted a lovely bouquet of clove and bubblegum, however it tasted rather watery, plain and uninteresting.

On tap. Interesting beer. Aromas of citrus, banana, and leaves. Taste is sweet, with some tartness. Palate is oily, with a medium body. Dark yellow and cloudy.

Bottle. Pours a sparkling golden amber with beige coloured head. Head disappears very quickly leaving bugger all lacing. Not really what I was expecting. Aromas of yeast and sour apples. Taste of sour apples and little else. Dont really like this one.

UPDATED: JUL 8, 2011 Bottle. Hazy orangey amber with a very modest white head. Lemony aroma with tart apples and a little wheaty bread. Watery - no liquid bread here. Taste has some apples and pears and lemony sourness. Nothing much in the way of banana or spices, although there’s a little white pepper. Odd, but refreshing. [2.5]

Tap. Hazy orange amber, white head. Aroma has lots of banana, some vanilla and cloves. Quite bready with vanilla, slight lemony tartness, cloves. Completely different and much better, but this time too much banana for me.

Bottle. Hazy golden orange pour with a disappearing loose white head. Aroma has notes of apple and banana with hints of yeast and spice. Flavour is also quite fruity with pear and pineapple notes along with the apple and banana. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation and a longish dry, spicy finish. This not being my favourite style I may not be the best judge, but I thought this wasn’t too bad. A little on the fruity side perhaps but quite acceptable, especially in warm weather.

From a 330ml bottle on 14/9/2010. Moderate aroma of banana and sugar. Flavour wise, there’s not too much going on. There’s a hint of hefe spice and banana. It’s milky in texture, quite sweet and has little to offer on the bitterness front. A fairly ordinary effort.

330ml bottle. Very poor head for a hefeweizen as there is not much foam at all. Bright gold colour with strong over ripe banana aroma. Flavour is very watery and thin with mild bitterness.

Not much to shout about here. A bit lean for my tastes with a simple bitter lemon flavour and a slightly hard minerally backbone. Much better suited to the summer but a bit under pay for the house.

Pours hazy amber with a small head. Nose shows typical bready notes and cloves with not so common lemon, orange blossom following. More lemon and cloves as flavours along with the expected doughy wheat and yeast. Nice med-light body with medium carbonation. Suits the beer well.
