Pours totally black with a beige head. Aroma is roasted malt, fruit, citrus and hops. Taste is light to medium sweet of fruity hops leading to a blasy hoppy finish. Great stuff!

2013 release. Hop aromas jump out of the glass. Pours near black with thin off white head.. taste is balanced roasted malt- very dark malts with aussie hop flavours of pine and citrus peel. very good beer

Pours jet black with excellent head retention. Brillaint on the nose, lots of grapefruit and hints of chocolate and some coffee. Each gulp gave me hops and first then coffee afterwards. Possibly the best black IPA I have had so far.

2013 bottle. Pours black small creamy off white head. Smells.. Grapefruit/citrus fruity hops and malt. Tastes..super fruit grapefruit/citrus for black ipa that moves through to roasted malt flavours, some Smoke and coffee hints, also nicely resinous. Like.

Pitch black poor with a nice amount of just off white head. Aroma of subtle chocolate and just a hint of coffee 1st up. Very slight hop aroma comes through after first sip. Taste is just a little dry nice bitterness throughout. Flavour is of a interesting hop and dark malt fusion.

This is a very robust beer, it covers all bases with distinction. Aroma is in full effect with a very dark pour. Floral aromas. Minimal head which stays during the whole experience. Pine, earthy grapefruit taste. The bitter / sour lingers in the mouth. Nice!

This beer is spectacular. The beer pours black with dissipating head. The aroma is sweet hops, not too punchy or citrusy but well balanced with the malt aroma. Painfully smooth drinking. Very drinkable dark malt backbone and fresh hops to boot. Beautiful.

One of the better black IPA’s I’ve tried. Good balance between hop and roasted malt character. Decent mouthfeel and carbonation. Very tasty, would def get again.

On tap at Archive Beer Boutique. Very deep space black in colour with a sand coloured head. Musty aroma with a mildly bitter flavour. Good mouthfeel with a long aftertaste.

A dark, oozy beer with its creamy, brown head gives off a heap of flavours including coffee, liquorice, sea water, orange peel, resin, grain and dirty socks. The hops are far more prominent in the mouth before giving way to coffee, smoke and cream (squealer from Prince Wine Store).
