COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This single hop IPA, the third in our series, highlights the character of a unique Australian hop variety, Summer. This hop has a slightly lower alpha acid % when compared with our previous IPAs, Galaxy and Stella. To compensate for this, we have increased our hopping regime by 50%. The result is a lush IPA with melon and stone fruit characters and mild bitterness.

Medium offwhite head. Hazy yellow body with strong and very fast carbonation. Sugary fruity earthy resiny aroma with peas earth and spice notes. Dry-sweet earthy peas taste with chalky notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft, slightly empty mouthfeel. Dryish earthy peas aftertaste with caramelly sulphury dusty notes. Interesting, unusual, and imperfect. (0.33l bottle, Kihoskh, Copenhagen.)

Not a great amount of aroma but a nice gentle bitter start with peach like flavours. Moves into a nutty malt profile which is cleaned up with gently bitter hops. All together a more complete beer than the Stella hop version, without the gaps in the flavour profile. This is the type of ipa I like, with the bitter and resinous characters present without being huge.

A pale yellow with a frothy head. A bit light on the flavour but the fruity Summer hops come through with citrus and some stonefruit. It’s very light on the bitterness and a little watery. Not bad, but the other single hops from Bridge Road are tastier.

Pretty good session ale this one. Very easy to drink whilst still having some easy going flavours. Personally I would rather a little more kick and flavour.

Bottle. Golden appearance and a small head.Gentle hoppiness which lingers. Quite subtle and refreshing but could have done with more hops.

Bottle- Pours adark copper color with a good head that fades slowly to lacing. Aroma of citrus, fresh grain and a bit of malt sweetness. Taste of citrus, a bit tart with a bit of malt sweetness. Sharp bitterness and a dry finish. Medium body, crisp and refreshing. Nice balance. Interesting IPA that fits the hot weather very nicely.

There is a strong aroma of pine on the nose, together with a little lemon, peach and marshmallow, making for an inviting introduction. Unfortunately, this is a little too simple on drinking, with mainly citrusy hops concentrating on the middle of the palate. It’s not very long, but it certainly does no harm on a warm Summer night (squealer from Prince Wine Store, Essendon).

Bottle. Cloudy golden beer with a strong white frothy head. The aroma is gently hopped with some dryness. The flavour is hopped with dryness at the finish, but with a watery quality. Overall a reasonable but fairly basic hopped beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Produces top heavy with a big and lasting two layers of froth and foam atop a muddy pastel orange body. Sea monkeys are dead in this one and sink to the bottom to bob about in odd spurts . Hop heavy, heady, pine forest nose; camphorous, plastic, rough and bleached by a bitter, green mango hit. A pine forest of hard to digest on the palate. Finishes awkward, woody, dry and phenolic (band-aid?). Fizzy upfront, biting and medium-light in body. Malt is suppressed. So much pine I swear I was going to be charged acreage. Raspy and not altogether enjoyable. If this highlights Summer as a hop I vote Winter. Not at all a runnin’ for these guys single hop ales! (33cL, no date stamp, Cellarbrations Carlisle)
