2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 goatwhisperer (8) - - MAY 26, 2012 does not count
Bottle from purvis cellars poured into a tulip glass. Opaque dull golden colour with specks of sediment settling at the bottom. Poor head retention with poor lacing. Blunt guava smell with a tinge of glue. At first the flavours are quite diluted. They later crescendo into a toasty malt flavour with a late mild bitterness. Smokey character reveals itself when the sediment at the bottom is reached.
3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 maneliquor (1188) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - MAY 9, 2012
Bottle from Mane Liquor. Pours a weird, hazy amber-green colour with a perfectly sculpted white head. Nose is very tropical and grassy. Fresh hops and like the hop suggests, it is very summery. Although it’s a cold winter night, I’m still loving it. Lots of stone fruits and grassy undertones in the taste. taste is a little thin which is it’s only downfall. Very nice single hop and would love plenty of these
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 mkel07 (1806) - Brisbane, AUSTRALIA - MAY 3, 2012
330ml bottle. Pours a hazy honey amber color with a low white cushion of foam. Fruit in the aroma with peach, nectarine and melon coming through. The flavour is solid with a nice smooth, almost creamy, mouthfeel.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Maris (544) - Canberra, AUSTRALIA - APR 28, 2012
From a 330ml bottle on 29/4/2012. Pours a cloudy dark golden orange with a small head. The aroma is dominated by fruit, with some light honey and floral notes. The flavour features stone fruits, some English pale ale yeastiness, and a slightly spicy hop bitterness. This is solid IPA, if perhaps a touch subdued. Definitely worth a try, but I preferred their Galaxy and Stella single hops.
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 Stew41 (1457) - Woodend, AUSTRALIA - APR 24, 2012
Bridge Rd must be making the best IPAs in Australia at the moment? Another wonderfully clean and balanced single varietal. Some subtle character but there is no denying the wonderfully sweet cut grass, biscuit and slightly funky cereal note. Lacks out and out punch but still a very competent drop.
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 Brenhophead (216) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - APR 12, 2012
330mL bottle, pours a cloudy orange hue with a dense white head that looks like it might go the length. nice citrus/mango aroma. Has nice hop/hop resin flavour for a 4.8% IPA which is great. I dont mind this hop its showing alot of promise.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 davidm (1361) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - APR 2, 2012
On tap at cookie, not bad, but not the best IPA, it lacks malt support. Aromas of hay, grass, and citrus. Taste is sweet, slightly tart, also with bitter notes; average length. Palate is oily, and medium bodied. Yellow, with a frothy head.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 bluebetty (880) - AUSTRALIA - MAR 24, 2012
Bottle thanks to hawthorne00. Pours a golden orange. Very slight haze. Smallish light cream coloured head. Furity sweet aroma thanks to the hops plus a little light caramel. Flavours is somehwat sweet with some nuttiness that does sit overly well with the style. Harsh light resiny hop bitterness. Thinnish mouthfeel.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 bluevegie (2926) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - FEB 27, 2012
Slightly cloudy orangey amber body with short lasting head. Pear and melon notes in taste and aroma. Not a lot of bitterness, alcohol strength but just enough hop flavour for it to be an IPA, in my opinion.
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Davros (1021) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - FEB 19, 2012
Pours dark amber with a small fading head.
Nose shows masses of fruity hops, with apricot and pine along with softer melon. Underneath is cookie dough-like malt and caramel.
Flavours are similar; melon, caramel, pine, but somewhat faint. Finishes with a bold bitterness.
Could use a thicker body and more carbonation.
