Where and how: Cask Days 2013
Aroma nice blend of chocolate, aromatic hops wrapped in mild tartness. Added dimension from alcohol warmth. Solid.7+
Top: medium off-white, rocky texture.
Base: cloudy amber.
Palate : full bodied, chewy, drinkable with light carbonation. Long finish presented.
Taste: Complex. Big but does not feel heavy. Solid leafy bitterness that was not rough. Plum sauce, apple caramel and hops. Very nice blend.

2013-10-19. Hazy red brown body with a small but creamy tan head. 4+ Aroma is sweet and fruity, Belgian yeast character. Flavour is similar, sweet yeasty Belgian character, dryish tangy finish, sugars. Smooth average plus bodied palate, soft carbonation. 3+ Not super complex but pretty decent. Great stuff. Pours cloudy red with good head and lacing. Prune and raisins. Belgian yeast and some florals in the aroma. Finishes a little sweet. Comes together super well, great for style. Well-balanced. Cask Days 2013.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Deep brown pour with a thick white head. The aroma has a lot of banana and toasted chocolate along with some light chewy fruitiness. A fairly pronounced roasted malt component on the flavour along with a bit of chewy sweetness. Some dark rum and molasses with a lingering bit of roastiness as well. Moderate bitterness with a bit of mintiness and some light herbal flavour as well. Lovely - if a bit more roasty than I’d prefer.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Amber pour with a fantastic frothy maple head and clinging lace. Spice malt aroma. Sweet chocolate malt, spice, clove and cinnamon flavour. Smooth velvet sweet flavour. Spicy warm finish. Tasty brew. Not a fan on these Belgian styles but I’ve sampled a few and this one is solid.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
From a 750ml growler (from the brewery) into a Bridge pint glass. Pours a hazy reddish brown with a light head. Nose of yeast and myriad spices. Fruity and spicy taste, relatively light on the palate. Not too bad, though I prefer the Farmhouse.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Slightly hazy brown/tea colour. Belgian yeast, kitchen spice and some sweet chocolate malt like quality although it is mostly about the esters in the aroma. It is all spice and bite on the palate, cinnamon, peppery, some fruit. It is more spicy and peppery than I thought it would be, but still a tasty local brew!
