Chocolate in the aroma, just a bit of cherry in the taste. But with 15 pounds of cherries split among 55 gallons youíre looking at about 4 ounces of cherry per gallon, which isnít enough to battle back against a 7.5ABV stout.

3.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pint on tap. Black color, but light makes its way through! Nice head fades off to a collar. It does have a vague cherry sweetness, with a ridiculously long aftertaste and a pretty warm, highly carbonated palate. The high carbonation mutes the taste a little, but this is still a full-tasting and a full-bodied beer. Still, itís not perfect despite its uniqueness. Cherries!

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
22oz bottle. Dark reddish brown with a medium tan head that leaves some lacing. Aroma of rich dark chocolate, light sweet cherry, with some caramel and roast. Flavor is malty with lots of chocolate and some roast, light cherry and caramel sweetness and the alcohol is fairly well hidden. Medium to full body with average carbonation. Pretty solid beer, Iíd classify it as a stout though since the cherry is very subtle.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours dark and rich with a slow nice head, great lacing in the glass. I do not get any coffee in this just chocolate with modest cherry and a hint of the sour going on. A robust stout finish very solid bold flavor but not too complex. A great Christmas eve brew Iím sure.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 13/20
Dark, hazy chocolate-brown, amber at edges. Warm medium-brown head (surprisingly dark) 1cm fade to ring at moderate decay rate. Aroma of moss grass big hazelnut coffee, hint of strawberry and cherry. Medium creamy body; carbonation is medium-soft. Flavor of spicy grass, muted coco, light burnt coffee. Zingy lemongrass into light, dynamic bitterness. Oh yeah, thereís a bit of restrained cherry, berry fruit in there as well that is apparent about 1 second in on the back and sides of the palate. A nice stoutThe mossiness is OK; I feel like it could be cleaner (especially the flavor, kind of watery muddy minerals floating around). Maybe a hair more cherry. Hazelnut coffee nose is the highlight!

Bottle from Belmont Station. Pours dark brown/black with a transient light tan head. Aroma of red berry and chocolate. Full bodied. Almost. Starts chocolate, quickly followed by cherry. Later followed by bitter smooth burnt malt. Nice.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Hmm, not really what I was expecting. Big black pour w/ a huge tan foamy head that leaves some lacing. Aroma is remarkably not all that interesting. Thereís a hint of cherry on the nose & just a pinch in the flavor. A little thin for a stout but not exactly fruity either. Not really sure what to make of this one!

Drop pour with beautiful head and minimal lacing aroma of chocolate and cherries slightly acetic. Roast, coffee, malty, some cherry thinning and slight tartness in the finish.

3.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 8/20
UPDATED: JUN 25, 2013 Aroma of cherries and chocolate with just the slightest hint of sourness. Pours a velvety black with no head and minimal lacing. The taste is robust! Dark roasted malts, chocolate, and coffee with note of sour cherries. (A very slight hint of sourness present) Full body with medium carbonation. Overall, this is a very impressive and enjoyable stout .
