Picked this up at the COOP tonight for about $6... poured into my HotD goblet... the brew is surprisingly black... fleeting dark tan head leaves few splotches of lacing and no cap. Nose is dry dark malts and a fudgy essence... cherry shows but seems a bit artificial. Smells more like fermented out candy than I appreciate. Dry stout qualities are there, but chocolate comes off as chocolate extract and the cherries mirror the nose. Odd.. Not sure if more malty sweetness would improve things, but I suspect more sweetness would have helped carry the cocoa and fruit much more.. Right now, this is a letdown. Body is light/medium punctuated by a bigger burpy carbonation... I won’t buy it again.

Bottle, picked up a Costco a while back. Very dark brown pour, topped with a thick finger of creamy brown head. Looks great... Like a stout milkshake. Smells of milk chocolate and cherries, light roast. Toasty flavor with chocolate and faint fruit. Lightly metallic, but at least its not chalky. Body is a little on the thin side.

Pours dark ruby brown, little tan head that is thin. Aroma is fudge and sweet cherries. Taste matches aroma, with hop bitterness towards the end. My main problem is that the mouthfeel is underwhelming. It is pretty thin. Good overall.

Sampled from a bomber at the Big Texas Beer Fest. Poured a dark brown almost black with a tan head. Taste of cherries, cocoa and dark roasted malts. Balance is off leading to a weird taste. Average carbonation, full body

Bomber from Winco. Pretty much pitch black in color. Big cherry nose. Chocolate and sweet black licorice. Sweet anise up front, along with some black cherry flavor. Roasted coffee and chocolate. Tastes very much like a big sweet foreign stout.

Bomber from Costco. Pours a dark brown color with a medium brown head. A big licorice, roast and cherry nose. Dry cocoa, metallic cherry, licorice, vanilla. The cherry is oddly sweet mixing a bit unusual in the beer. Ok.

Nice blend if sweet and stout. Had this from a bottle with my wife. She liked it a lot, me slightly less enthusiastic, but still thought I could see myself having it again another time. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

22 oz bottle pours black with a lively effervescent head that suggests rather high carbonation. Tasting verifies the fear of over-carbonation. No other obvious flaws. Decent bitter/sweet balance; all main ingrediants evident in both the aroma and the flavor. Lingering cherry-cocoa dark bread aftertaste. O: Perhaps not as great as one might hope for given {cherries + cocoa + stout), but still recommended. ABV not hidden and detracts from the aroma, but the esters mix nicely with the other flavor components.

651 ml. bottle. Pours a medium, poorly retained, beige head, with minimal lacing, over a clear, dark .back brown (SRM 35) body.....nose is roasted malts with coffee, chocolate, cocoa, light fruit hints, herbal hops, balance to the malts......taste is strong roasted malts with heavy coffee, lighter chocolate, hints of cocoa, light fruit (cherry) notes, finishing with a strong hop bitterness, lightly throughout, balance to the malts.....mouth feel, medium body, moderate astringency, alcohol hidden, carbonation low, with light acid. The roasted malts, with attendant bitterness are dominant in this beer, which is really more of a Foreign Extra Stout than a Sweet Stout. The cherries are rather hidden in this bottle. On tap at Bridgeport, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out chocolate upfront, with barely any cherry. Flavour is characterized by chocolate and cherries upfront, with a light roastiness in back. Not the most complex beer, but still decently drinkable and enjoyable. Okay.
