Aubrey (2592), Denver, Colorado, USA May 4, 2008 Deep amber with a soft head that lasts. Nutty-sweet nose. Sugary malts, with notes of nuts, toast and light brown sugar. Zingy hops with decent bitterness to boot. Pinch of vanilla in the background. Very nice brown ale.
acrdz (4285), Boulder, Colorado, USA Aug 16, 2008 Bottle. Clear cola and walnut brown colored body with a tan head. Nose is maple malt and brown sugar, light notes of toast, and a small lactic yeast note. Crisp and wet flavor, crusty toasted grains, wet bread, some walnut flavored toasted bread... decent enough for a brown ale but nothing to see here either... BlackDonald (1040), North Carolina, USA Aug 7, 2008 Clear reddish broewn coloring, with a toasted malt nose, flavor has a bit of nuttiness, toasted cereal malts, some light fruit and spice, but there is really not much going on here. Not something I would buy again. IrishBoy (2124), Bakersfield, California, USA Jul 30, 2008 12 oz bottle from Safeway, Port Angeles; Nose of vanilla, sweet caramel malt, and some brazil nuts; lightly hazy rusty brown with a medium cinnamon tan head; flavor has figs, brown sugar, and a small bitter hop note; finish is figgy with some very light bitterness and vanilla at the end. Very good brown ale! Could down this one anytime! bryandhargrave (158), Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA Jul 15, 2008 i guess if this wasnt right next to Rouge Hazelnut Brown at the store, i mgiht buy it again. too bad that it is, cus i wont. D_malone102 (67), Denver, Colorado, USA Jul 7, 2008 I like anything from Bridgeport, this brown was no different. It had a nice clear, Brown color with a head that dissipated quickly. There was a nutty taste with a mild hoppiness. Malt dominates, but it is not too sweet and/or cloying. It is very drinkable.
