kidmartinek (713), austin, Texas, USA May 12, 2008 Pours black with a small tan head that lasts a few minutes. Excellent lacing. Aroma of mild caramel malt and watery darker malt. and a little hops too. Flavor is exceptionally biller and potent witth malt undertones. It almost tastes strongly alcoholic een though it’s not. Texture is .edium light. Finish is mildly malty and strong bitter.
Biddle_Brau (135), Midland Park, New Jersey, USA Aug 21, 2008 Black with brown highlights. Long lasting dense tan head. Faint roasy aroma. Creamy and rich flavor, not too roasty or burnt, clean and more satisfying than the porter.
thooper41 (207), USA Jul 20, 2008 12oz bottle: pours pitch black with one finger tan head, aroma of what seems like leather, flavor isnt much better didnt think i would be writting this but roased malt and some leather. its not to bad but just doesnt taste right. glad i found this beer but wont buy it again. zappafan99 (284), Rock Hill, South Carolina, USA Jul 20, 2008 Taste 7/8 Bottle(date?). Looks: Black and tan. Aroma: Chocolate, espresso, roast, wine. Taste: Smooth, flavorful at first, then a clean creaminess. A little hop on the tongue, more a feeling then a taste. Nice DuffMan (1935), Calgary, Alberta, Canada Jul 19, 2008 Dark brown, initially robust brown head that rapidly fades without lace. Mostly brown bread aroma, with some burnt malt and dark fruit thrown in, but I’m not picking up any coffee or chocolate really (and I’m smelling the beer right now, as I type this review). On the palate, the fruit is coming forward to the point of overtaking the dark malts, distracting. The finish is quite bitter and astringent. Palidor19 (1276), Brandon, Florida, USA Jul 19, 2008 This is a great example of what a dry stout should taste like. even though their is little aroma and the palate is thin, the taste and dryness of the beer is great. slight coffee but not overpowering.
