Commercial Description:
A healthy dose of Northwest hops balances the sweetness of black strap molasses to make this a velvet-rich, creamy descendent of the great Irish stouts. A real treat for those who crave the dark side of brewing.

I thought this was a smooth drinking stout. Hints of chocolate and berries tasty and generally enjoyable

Taste 7/8 Bottle(date?). Looks: Black and tan. Aroma: Chocolate, espresso, roast, wine. Taste: Smooth, flavorful at first, then a clean creaminess. A little hop on the tongue, more a feeling then a taste. Nice

Dark brown, initially robust brown head that rapidly fades without lace. Mostly brown bread aroma, with some burnt malt and dark fruit thrown in, but I’m not picking up any coffee or chocolate really (and I’m smelling the beer right now, as I type this review). On the palate, the fruit is coming forward to the point of overtaking the dark malts, distracting. The finish is quite bitter and astringent.

This is a great example of what a dry stout should taste like. even though their is little aroma and the palate is thin, the taste and dryness of the beer is great. slight coffee but not overpowering.

The beer pours a deep black color with a thin off white head that dissipates quickly. The nose is a mix of toasted malts and burnt sugar. The mouth feel is slightly watery, the taste is a slightly bitter mix of chocolate, burnt sugar and roasted malts. I can really get the blackstrap molasses taste off the beer.
