One of the better bridgeport beers that I have had....it helps that my aunt used to work for them, so I can get the shit.

I’m not generally a fan of pale ales, but this one I like. Very smooth, crisp and tasty!

UPDATED: AUG 26, 2003 This amber colored apa has immediately become a favorite among session beers with its pleasant malt aroma and taste so smooth that it soothes the palate. Possibly a little lighter than ideal as far as mouthfeel, but it is hard to knock this easy to drink, enjoyable ale. Rerated: This was fairly average for an APA, with some sugar gum notes--I am not sure why I rated it rather highly first go around.

Thin, thin, thin, and why is it skunky AT THE BREWERY?

Before I was a HopHead, this was my beer. Perhaps one of the smoothest transitions to a great NW hoppy beer. Bridgeport gets high marks from me for consistently great, paletable ales!

UPDATED: FEB 8, 2003 While I’m on a “How Long Has It Been Kick”, 785 days since my last “Bridgeport Blue Heron Pale Ale, and I’m slabbering to get at this beer.
A transpicuous deep copper color on the pour, the head meaningful in size, creamy in its texture, and a light tan in color, the resultant lace a lattice work to seal off the glass. Nose is malt dominated, hints of the hops flower also present, fresh and clean to the senses. Start is mostly malt with a modest sweetness, the top middling in feel, the finish strikingly acidic, the hops delicate in their spicy presence. The aftertaste quite dry, long lasting and a fine “session” beer, as with the Alaskan beers, it’s great to have a source to purchase these fine beers.
