COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Fiercely local, drawing on indigenous ingredients from the hop fields of the Willamette Valley and the barley fields of the high Northwest desert. This pale ale is round and soft on the palate, finishing crisply, to capture the flavor and spirit of the Pacific Northwest in every pint and bottle.

2009 Bottle - Pours copper with a small off white head...aroma is fresh grain, dry malt and slightly metallic...flavour is similar with a clean hop profile and a lingering cereal grain finish...I always liked this beer...nothing too special but consistently good...

Nothing special about this beer. Sweet first taste that ends a little bitter. But not a stand out.

Light amber pour with a barely there head. Very sweet aroma with a tiny bit of citrus present. Dry mouthfeel with a taste of malts and a tiny bit of hop flavoring. Not so high on this one.

Smells faint hops, a little apple... But thats just my nose. Orange copper in color. Taste is up front bitter and toasty. This is very clean.

Bottle. Pours a nice amber color with a three-quarters inch beige head that hangs around for a while. Aroma is a bit faint, and is of hops and floral hints. Flavor is not very hoppy at all, yet not too malty. Fruity flavor, some citrus. Overall, not a bad beer, but not bold (hoppy) enough to be classified as a pale ale, at least for me. Still, I like it. I’d like to pair this brew with shrimp scampi, garlic mashed potatoes and a spinach salad.

So who ripped off who with the blue heron pale ale idea-- Mendocino or Bridgeport? Hardly matters anyway. This pours a handsome bright orange amber, slightly hazy. Sweet caramel and apricot fruit in the aroma. Caramel, some apricot fruit, and a vegetal quality to the finish. Moderately bitter, light/medium bodied.

12 oz bottle from Safeway, Port Angeles; nose of light floral hops, caramel, and peaches; light amber with a medium off-white head; flavor is fruity peaches, light sugar, and a background hop note; finish is very lightly bitter.
