Live rate! Bottle from Sun Devil. Pours jet black with a khaki head. Smells predominately of coffee grounds and mint leaves. Tastes of both with a healthy dose of cream. Tastes like something Starbucks would put in a bottle and market and gas stations. Not enough depth, unfortunately.

Poured black with a quickly disipating mocha head. Nose is fresh ground coffee...not much else. Medium mothfeel with over-the-top coffee flavor masking any other flavors that might be here. I enjoy beers with subtle coffee notes, but this is just over bearing. Some malt flavors begin to present as the beer warms a bit, but still fairly one dimensional. Probably won’t be picking this one up again.

Pours black with ruby highlights and a cream colored head. Aromas of rich, earthy black coffee and not much else. Taste is much the same, black coffee with a bit of acidity. Medium bodied and oily in the mouth. Little complexity, kinda one dimensional and boring.

Medium roast coffee nose, little vanilla, smells light in body as a diner at 3am. Nose gets sweeter over time. Very dark brown / black, thin slippery tan head. Big coffee flavor, but now the vanilla reminds me of added artificial creamer. I dunno. It’s oily and seems like coffee concentrate.

On tap at Brewforia Beer market, Meridian, ID. Black with a modest but dense and lasting yellowish sandy colored head. Big coffee aroma and classic porter roasted notes as well. Body is a bit thin and fairly dry like a typical porter but that coffee comes through in a big way here as well. Dominant, but not harsh and bitter like black coffee can be. Softly carbonated, smooth and soft bodied. Can barely detect any hops and the finish is roasted coffee again. Major coffee in this but it works and it is a nice soft porter otherwise.

Bottle from PCC market in Fremont. Pours very dark brown with a layer of beige/tan smear. Aroma is sort of coffee grounds. Gritty. Med body. There’s so much coffee that it hits the tongue like chili. The coffee is so strong it obscures the burnt malt. It finishes really dark coffee. Eye opener.

Kind of a creamy coffee nose, light sweetness in there. Perhaps a hint of wet dog. Not the best aroma I have encountered. Poured dark brown, nice creamy head. The flavor is more somewhat subdued coffee, mocha, and earth. Light sweetness throughout. Not what I expected really, I had higher hopes for this one.

On tap @ Bridgeport on Hawthorne. Pours a slick black darkness with a frothy cocoa colored crema. Aroma is of roast coffee. Fairly full bodied mouthfeel leads to a well-balanced roast profile. No acrid or sour burnt flavors. Sweetness balances nicely. Roasted coffee aspect adds to the complexity of this porter, very nicely matched. Relatively low abv coffee beers are less prominent than their beefy alcoholic cousins. However this one found balance.

120z ,part of a 6 pack from West salem,Safeway.$5.99 LOvelly dark looking porter....dark almost black beer with a luscious, frothy, thick tan head. A thing of beauty. WOAH..aroma is great wafts of fresh ground French maybe Italian roast coffee..some chocolate malt rounds it out. Outstanding for a coffee lover like me! Taste is the same..very coffee like..really does do a great job..some thick toasted malts ..no real hops. Marvelous smooth latte like palate..wonderful stuff. I really love this ..its a REAL coffee porter. Great for us bean fiends..maybe not so much for others.
