Great beer. Tastes like an IPA, but with a slightly more complex malt foundation coming from the roasted malt.

Black with a decent amount of roasted or burnt malt flavor. A good amount of hops works great with this one.

Pours black with a decent tan head and a treacle aroma. There is a roasted malt flavor with dark molasses and a dry finish.

Opaque black beer. A muted and creamy hop nose, grassy and dry. Thin, with a strong early bitterness that quickly dissipates leaving a little coffee and then a watery death.

Bottle thanks to bhensonb. Poured dark, near black, with a beige head. Aroma was slight dark roast, Passion fruit, citrus, and what seemed like chocolate pudding. Flavor was fruity pebbles with a slight dark roast. Body was light with medium carbonation.

Poured into a tulip. Pours a deep black color with tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, hops and alcohol. Taste was medium bitter. Pretty thin with a bitter and burnt finish. Overall a nice dark IPA I’ll return to.

12oz bottle. Dark brown color. Head is of a soda. Looks just like Coca-Cola. Aroma of hops, nice citrus. Tastes of dark malt, roasted barley grain, char, burnt character. Finishes with a burnt flavor, with a touch of hop bitterness. Very thin, light bodied. (3318)

Bottle. Pours a dark copper with a small off white head leaving spotty lacing. The aroma is a raisin malt and floral. Medium mouthfeel with bitter hop and nice dry finish. A good black IPA from Bridgeport.

Poured at the Big Texas Beer Festival. Dark pour with a small tan head. Aroma is a little roast and some fruit. Taste is light fruit and some ashy roast. Slight metal in the finish.

(12oz bottle, courtesy of Mora2000) Pours a clear mahogany body with a small beige head. Aroma of pine, grass, roasted malt, and cow manure. Flavor of pine, roasted malt, caramel, chocolate, and grass with a bitter finish.

Pours clearish black with a tan head. This brew tastes like minor roast, pine, some hints of citrus. Dark Rain doesn’t quite know what it wants to be. Crisp finish but with an unpleasant metallic note in the lingering taste. Not good.
