3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Poured a small whitish head, light lacing. Ruddy in color. Aroma is malty and some spice notes. Not really full bodied. Taste is malty with slight spice bite and a hop finish that is light. Not bad.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a dark red color with a small off-white head that leaves some good lacing on the glass. Sweet spicy aroma, very malty with a slight hop backing. The taste starts very sweet and malty, slightly roasty and ends slightly bitter with a little of the spice jumping out near the end. Mouthfeel is a little thin in my opinion and i wish this brew used a little more spice to keep the aftertaste lingering around for a while.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
This has a good english feel to it. Spicy, mildy hoppy aroma, with toasted malts. Nice dark fruit, roasted malt flavors. The hops seem downplayed with this one giving it a pleasant malt chewyness. Warming and robust. Good one bridgeport!

Sampled AIBA 2004: Dark amber colour. Strong malty aroma and very sweet and malty flavour, just the way I like it.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: MAY 9, 2004 Pours an amazingly huge head that quickly dissaptes. Appears very dark, when held to the light is an almost translucent very deep red. Has a wonderfully sweet nose. Very rich and creamy and finishes a bit bitter for a perfect cap to a cold winter's night!

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 12/20
Big fluffy head that dissipates quickly. Aroma of sweet cherries and mild hops. Creamy mouthfeel thanks to the bottle conditioning. The flavor is sweet with nice bit of hops - unusual for this style. Decent, but the best American English Strong Ale seem to be brewed in the NE.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Amber color with a lasting off-white head out of the bottle. Full mouthfeel. Brown sugar sweetness with a faint cinnimon spice and noticable alcohol. Tastey winter seasonal.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
True to the strong ale style. Malty and strong alcohol nose and flavor. Love the way this beer gets more flavorful and pungent as it rests in the glass. Thick, syrupy and fruity/figgy sweet. Not obnoxiously spiced like many winter "warmer" types can be.

Definitely an english style brew. Lotsa malts with a slightly hoppy finish. Pretty thick palate. A nice refreshing winter brew that is high in drinkability yet not devoid of flavor.
