A true Winter Warmer made in homage of the season: Full-bodied and rich, deep amber in color, crowned with a creamy head, and finished with a mild bitter flush.

Aroma is mint, light pine and fruit. The flavor is caramel, complex fruit, spices, a small hint of vegetables and a tart and dry finish.

12oz bottle from Jake65 - thanks! A decent winter warmer. Nice copper to brown color, with a decent body. A fairly pleasant character - with figs, chocolate, the usual flavors associated with the style - with modest malts. Solid enough, but not much personality.

Dark brown in color and cloudy with an average size head. Hop aromas with slight caramel hints. Hop flavors dominate. Not the best as a winter warmer.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy dark amber color with a medium creamy light tan head. Not too much on the nose but light caramel. Sticky lacing on the glass. The taste is a malty with a bitter finish. A good English Strong Ale from Bridgeport.

Bottle from Whip-In. Pours a slightly hazy maroon brown with a large off-white head. Smells of spicy fruit, sharp malts and some wheat tones. There is a large bit of fruity tartness in this. Flavor is earthy malts and grains. Tastes of soil and a bit of sugary spice. Leafy finish with some slight bitterness to boot.

A very clear amber color when held up to the light, otherwise it is brown with a tan head. Aroma notes of raisin, rum, perhaps some cherry, definitely malty and an ale. Lightly sweet in the front, there are notes and hints of chocolate, raisins, and other dark fruits. A bit over carbonated for a beer that should be served at cellar temperatures, though a quick swirling of my glass takes care of this deficiency. A smooth cream soda type of feel & taste to this beer. Evokes memories of vanilla. Curiously this bottle conditioned ale has the least amount of sediment (barely a faint ring at the bottom) I have ever seen in a bottle conditioned "real" ale. Definitely a nice beer to be sipping on a cold fall night.

Bottle. Pours a hazy reddish brown color with a moderate tan head on there. Some hay and subtle toffee notes are coming through for me. Taste is lighter than I expected, with some toasty malts being most salient, and a mildly bitter finish. Not too bad.

Dark maple brown color, small head. Very fruity aroma. Flavor is malty and molasses. Small bite, small carbonation. Smewhat tasty. The palate is a little bland and the texture is slightly rough.

In the bottle from Wilburís. Pours a chestnut color with a beige head. Aroma is a bit roasted and a bit chocolate, but the dominant smell is a decent bolus of finishing hops, perhaps Cascade? The flavor is fairly boring to me. I see this beer as being closer to a porter than to a strong ale. Mid-malted, roasted and chocolate flavors match the aroma, but only a whimper of hops at the end. OK, but not great.
