light smell, almost yeasty. flavor isn’t overwhelming, nor is it special. Slightly hoppy aftertaste that doesn’t linger too long afterward. Unimpressive and average

This is clearly the post-ghost Ebenezer; a warm, malty beer that pairs well with, fireplaces, couches and light snow. A great way to wait out the winter.
Nose: caramel, bread, dough, vanilla. Color: dark amber, clear, with a tan, pillowy head. Warm, medium bodied, caramel, vanilla, with a hint of chocolate and slightly bready flavor, balanced with a trace of hops and spices. Lightly carbonated with a pleasant, full mouthfeel.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Nice and malty with s touch of spice (nutmeg?) , makes this a nice cold weather brew. Smooth, Aroma is malt and spice, taste is more of the same, dark amber/light brown with thin beige head, Just the right amount of spice makes this one of the better ones.

Type: 12-oz. bottle
Glass: Firestone restaurant pint glass
From: BevMo in Mission Valley (San Diego), Calif.
Price: $14.99 for a BevMo variety 8-pack (w/ BevMo card)
Purchased: Dec. 31, 2013
Consumed: Jan. 10, 2014
Poured a dark caramel brown semi-clear color with 2-to-3 fingers of khaki white head. Good amount of circular foamy lacing on the sides of the glass. Great retention on the top all the way down.
Smelled brown sugar, caramel, toffee, roasted nuts and nutmeg. Some type of hops in there that balances the malts nicely, but couldn’t figure it out.
Tasted similar to the nose with brown sugar, toffee, caramel, nutmeg and roasty nuts. Very smooth.
Medium body. Creamy-to-sticky texture. Average carbonation. Long, smooth, somewhat warming finish.
A pretty decent beer. Not quite a winter warmer for me, more like a winter lukewarmer, but good nonetheless.

On tap @ City Beer. Mahogany pour with an off-white head. Nose is sweet toffee and dark fruits such as raisin and plum. A decent caramel note, some light spice, and plenty of toast. Flavor is dominated by the sweet malt base. Lots of toffee and caramel. Heavy dark fruit character and a bit of syrup. A touch of spice and roast.

Dark tan pour with minimal head and an aroma of malt and slight sweet caramel. A sweet strong malt backbone with a full body. A great winter warmer for a cold football Sunday

Bready caramel aroma, nutty with earthy hops
Pours a cloudy burnt sienna color with small disappearing head
Bready flavor with earthy floral hops. Carmel
Medium bodied medium co2, sweet bready finish
Pretty simple brew but I really like the way everything blends together. I can see myself drinking a few of these.

Dark copper color. Malt up front. Spices in the flavor. Nicely carbonated. Middle is slight bitter. Clove and nutmeg. More crisp and dry of a winter warmer with lower abv which is not apparent.

12oz bottle in Seattle. Hazed amber red pour with foamy head. Somewhat spiced malt aroma with grain and spice body. Banana bread. Middle range ’winter’ ale, on the lighter side with some soapy hops and alc. Not great but perfectly drinkable.
