COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Abounds with Imported English Goldings hops at a weight of one pound per barrel. It has the assertiveness, aroma and unbanished flavor beer used to have before the cost-cutters started.

Big malty flavor to it. Not as hoppy as I would have hoped, but still a good one. Nice amber coloring, with a medium head. Aroma is all alcohol. Very balanced finish, and a niceone overall.

Pours a cloudy amber colour with little head. The Aroma explodes with Hops and Sugar/Caramel/Malt. The mouthfeel although a bit watery finishes with a characteristic ESB hoppiness nicely juxtaposed against a malty and sweet balance. Not a bad brew for the price. I enjoyed.

My first Bridgeport was awesome, I hope this second is just as good. Not much head out of this bottle. Dark copper color. Lives up to its billing because its bitter. New beer to my area. Very nice ESB. Best of the beers I’ve had today. Great flavor, anybody in this area who has access to this one should get a sixer and make me a liar.

Fruity, sweet and hoppy aroma, plenty of biscuity and caramel maltiness along with fainter notes of apple, citrus, light brown sugar and spicy hops. Medium amber color, clear, with a fine, spotty and slight off-white head. Flavors are well balanced between the sweet, dark sugary caramel malts, the nascent, bright yeast fruitiness, the spicy, leafy, tea-like hop flavor and closing with a respectable amount of bitterness. Lightly oily on the palate, moderate amount of effervescence and medium bodied. Moreish, to steal a term from MJ.

Poured a clear amber/mahogany color with a finger of head that reduced to thin collar around the edges of the glass. The nose was firmly malty with plenty of toasty breads, nuttiness and some raw earthy herbal hops. The flavor starts with a bready malt base, followed by more nut, some yeast, and a healthy dose of fresh herbal hop notes. The end has a slight fruitiness, with a minor copper taste. The finish was dry, crisp and clean with a medium/heavy feel. This is a well balanced ESB, the flavors work well together. Bonus points are given due to the nice earthy hops that threw me off a little. Tasty.

Pale orangey-yellow mist. Medium off-white crown has a nice smooth billowing to it. Keeps a skimpy skimming once it fades; which is about a minute. Fine, tiny stitched lacing clings in ink blobby sheets. Crisp nose with some citrus peelings and grassyness to it but seemingly more malty with cinnamon bread and caramel. Middle ground taster with small toasty breads, caramel sugars, and an uncresting wave of citrus hop dealings adding the significant amount of mild bitterness to it. Light grassy lean towards the finish and some off metalic notes. Clean, lighter in body with a firmer carbonation helping. Delicately well rounded with a partial emptyness in a couple spots. An easy drinker no doubt. Would make for a nice starter beer if looking to move up the scale to more prominent hops and body. Otherwise its sessionable beyond its 6.1% capacity.

ESB? Yes, but if the only ESB one has tried is Fuller’s, this one will disappoint. I found it a great amber pour with just the right hint of dry and bitter finish. I think it is a worthy brew and have recommended it friends looking for a different look at American ESB. If you are looking for a quaf, this is not it. It deserves a good look, would be great with good food.

Sparkling amber, creamy off-white head. Nice fruity ester nose followed up with touches of grains, toasted caramel and toffee. Flavor was very well balanced with toasted caramel notes up front, and light floral and fruity hops bringing up the rear. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, bittersweet finish. A near perfect session brew...
