COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Abounds with Imported English Goldings hops at a weight of one pound per barrel. It has the assertiveness, aroma and unbanished flavor beer used to have before the cost-cutters started.

Sample at the brewpub. The beer is a dark amber color with a medium thin and creamy bone white head that diminishes steadily. Stringy lacing on the glass. Mild hops and earthy malt in the nose. Medium, smooth body with flavors of resiny hops, earthy malt and fruit. The finish is biscuity malt with a touch of floral hops left behind. Decent overall.

Bottle. Pours a nice amber color with beige head. Aroma of subtle caramel, malt and a low profile hop spice. Flavor has a nice, smooth malt backbone blended in with notes of caramel, light sweetness, signs of toffee, low fruity esters and a smooth low profile spiciness in the finish. Mouth feel is medium body with high carbonation, Overall, this is a nice, relaxing drinking beer. Not bad at all. I enjoyed.

12 oz bottle from John’s - Not much in the way of aroma, but what is there is pleasant enough. Pale, clear, hazy, minimal head, white foam. Light body, thin feel, average carbonation, long finish. This is a decent beer overall. I may need to have another before deciding on getting a full keg of it. It grows on you after a few sips.

Hazy orange, frothy beige head fades. Aroma of caramel, floral and slight bitter hops. Taste is a good balance between caramel and bitter hops. Finish is short-lived bitterness and citrus. Medium light body, smooth carbonation.

Bottle. Poured a mostly clear copper, with a small white head. Aroma of toasted malt, earthy hops. Taste is malty, bready, toastey, faint spice, and plenty of earthy hops. Mouth is medium bodied. Finish is mildly bitter. Overall, a decent esp. Would order if I saw it on tap.

This one reminds more of a Brit esb, being bitter and less hoppy than some American takes on the style. That said it’s none too distinctive but can certainly be sessionable.
