Cask at the Bridgeport Brewery.
Faint aroma of dark fruit and caramel malt. Tart flavor, with cherry and light hops, mostly bittering hops. Cask version was rather dead. Here again, the keg version was much better, but this is the one that got rated.

This beer barely qualifies as an ESB in book. It really isn’t bitter in the slightest. Only in the finish can you notice the bitterness and hops. It does get more difficult to finish it, however, so I had to adjust my final score now.

Not bad. This is very sweet for an ESB, sweet malt rather than bitter malt. Considerable hop presence for the style. Its not bad, but too sweet.

Dark amber in colour with a very thing off-white head. Smells of malt and sweetness, such as honey and fresh pineapple. Taste of malt and cardboard in the taste. Medium to light bodied with a slightly sour aftertaste. A decent bitter, but not too great. I was really expecting more from Bridgeport. Brew Date: 15-May-2003. I bought this 12 ounce bottle from Total Beverage in Thornton (Denver), Colorado.

Bottle: The aroma has moderate amounts of caramel and fruit with some very faint floweriness. It pours a transparent amber with a small soapy off-white head. The flavor starts with moderate caramel with some light fruitiness in the background. The finish has a very mild flower bitterness. I’m told it’s not a fresh bottle which explains the muted hoppiness.

Red copper in color. Very well balanced with a pleasant amount of hops in the finish. This beer reminds me of what Portland tastes like!

Bottle from jake65 - thanks, Jake! Big aroma, English hops abound with a touch of gritty, earthen fruit and citrus. Sweet and very fruity! Rich amber body, nosing in on caramel, with a tiny-bubbled, nigh soapy beige head. Crisp, dry, and very bready taste, easing into a bready, hoppy aftertaste. Very fruity with a gritty citric hop presence - pounding, powerful Goldings exert great influence here. Deft touch of funk in with the caramel and toffee mix. Classic medium body. Really solid!

Doesn’t smell or look like much, but it tastes like alot. The hops are the front man in this band, and they have a very "outdoorsy" taste to them, sort of a combination of grass and flowers. Sounds disgusting, but it isn’t. I guess my description is the image that popped into my head upon my first taste. Woud make a good session beer if not for the higher-than-normal alcohol content. Good beer.
