Dragon99 (57), Laramie, Wyoming, USA Nov 3, 2001 Hop bitterness evident, especially in the aftertaste. Great tasting beer. alittlemelty (3), Michigan, USA does not count Jul 7, 2006 I had this on tap at the brewery in Portland. I wish I would have bought more than a 6-pack to bring home with me, as it is not available anywhere near Detroit. NewRiver (3), North Carolina, USA does not count Feb 2, 2007 Pours a cloudy dark amber with a nice head and and leaves beautiful legs. This is a very fine mouthful of beer. It has a full sweet malt middle balanced by the proper amount of hop bite on the end. Mouthfeel can only be described as "silky". This is an absolutely beutiful beer and on of my absolute faves. This is an excellent ESB, unfortunately recently reviewed by several illiterates. Gusler (2656), Tucson, Arizona, USA Dec 15, 2000 Got to love this bad boy, big nose and a nice bite. Strong and hearty, the way all beers should be. jah noth (938), Rochester, New York, USA Jan 13, 2006 This is pretty good. Pours a nice caramel gold in color with an immense, frothy head. Big time aroma of perfumy hops with caramel swetness. Drink it all day flavor of sweet apples with the softness of English lemony hops. Finishes sweet. Very nice. Thanks to mjames.
