1.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 2/20
Poor after taste and finish for an IPA. Nice price for a six pack about 2.00 cheaper than other IPA's.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Soft floral hoppy aroma. Initially easy on the palate although this turns reasonably acidic and continues into the bitter aftertaste. Not great, but strong ABV and cheap price.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a medium gold with decent off-white head. Good lacing. Aroma is more malt than hops with some bread, caramel, and a little citrus. Flavor starts sweet and has more of a malt backbone than some similar beers, but then a solid, rich mouth feel kicks in quickly along with a delicious stickiness and pleasantly bitter finish. A fairly complex and tasty brew.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Nice IPA with a solid hoppy kick, a good amount of flavor from pine and some citrus, long finish. Nice aroma. Solid foamy white head, lasts. Chewy mouthfeel. Not as good as their standard IPA but still quite good. From a bottle, from a variety pack.

3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap @ Barking Dog. Pours dark orange amber with thin creamy off-white head. Aroma is thick sweet dark caramel malt and earthy bitter hops. Taste is chewy lightly roasted, slightly sweet malt and deeply bitter hops with background notes of earthy pine and a bit of citrus. For the relatively low abv, this is surprisingly malt driven. Not much from the hops other than bitterness. Not bad, and easily available.

I happen to love hops, therefore I love this beer. Draft pour. Hop storm with a bitter finish. Loved it.

3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle, Dr Murphy's. Big off white head, not retained. Mid amber colour, mild chill haze, clearing to light amber. Aroma of Pine, grass, pepper and grape fruit initially deepening to resin and toast, with hints of melon and French Brie? Big spicy hop pallet, covers the tongue with no room for malts, but I sense that was the brewers intention. This beer is not about a well balanced Malt foundation, it's a celebration of hop character. Chinook in the kettle, and potentially Amarillo and Casacade. A great beer for those looking to discover big North American hops. Drink one!!!

When a beers name starts with hops its not surprising when the taste is in accordance with that. The lacing on the glass tells me that my drinks per pint goes down as the number of beers I drink goes up. The colder this beer is served the better it is. It’s rough at first but they say the body gets used to anything and it does. Drink the 6 and wear the hop crown.
