3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 DWestrick (310) - Ft Wayne, Indiana, USA - FEB 5, 2012
Bottle in Arizona. Powerful and fairly smooth a little weird on the palate but true to imperial ipa form
3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 boto (1581) - Granby, Connecticut, USA - JAN 22, 2012
12oz. bottle: This one pours a hazy, golden-amber color. There was a small off white head on it that didn’t linger long but left some lacing. Lots of hops to the nose. Resinous and citrus notes prevail. Some spiciness also. Definitely a big shot of bitter hops to the taste. Some spiciness. The taste is good, but could have used some more malt in the body for a better balance. Still, pretty good.

UPDATED: FEB 12, 2012 12 oz bottle pours a hazy amber with a white head. Nice citrus and floral aroma. The taste hits you with bitter hops right away. Then the citrus comes out.

12oz bottle. Decent floral notes on the nose with some citrus. Dark copper body with good head that left some spiderweb lace. Malt was more pevalent in the flavor a heavy beer along wwith some mild citrus and sugar. Good beer just one that it doesnt sound good from notes but not bad.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Crompt (35) - Clover, South Carolina, USA - JAN 7, 2012
Smells sweet and a little skunky. Not too thrilled to try this after smelling but hopefully it will surprise me. Very thin and sweet and malty at the start but then gets a bitter at the end which is interesting but not sure in a good way. I like bitter IPA’s but I prefer it citris and piney and this one doesn’t deliver for me. Don’t get me wrong it is drinkable and I wouldn’t turn it down but not what I’m looking for.
2.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 JazzyJ (4) - Washington, USA - DEC 31, 2011 does not count
UPDATED: JAN 2, 2012 I was also looking forward to trying out this, but was kind of let down by the lack of range/volume. I feel that the bitterness and alcohol overpowers the others. You can taste the citrus notes at one point, but they are swiftly moved aside. Once you understand the context of this brew it isn’t all that bad, but there are others out there that may give more. Don’t get me wrong, I do love the bitter ones too.

Bottle shared by Tmoney99. Pours a hazy amber color with a medium sized off white head. The aroma has quite a bit of citrus and pine resin hoppiness with very little in the way of malts. The flavor has light pale and bready malts, herbal notes, grass and the pine and citrus from the nose. General bitterness in the finish. Too thin and the flavors don’t mesh all that well together.

Bottle to a pint glass. Pours a hazy amber with a soapy, frothy white head. Doesn’t look as clean and crisp as you want from an IPA. Lot of floral and grass on the nose. Too sour to be a top Imperial IPA but not a bad beer.
