2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Light amber color, average coarse head. Strange aroma of lemon and spice, horse, old cheese and a stale malty note. Grassy, piney hops aroma; caustic, with some florality. Somewhat soapy finish, quite bitter. Proof that just throwing a bunch of hops into some malt is not all there is to making a good IPA.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
At 7.5% and 87 IBU, this beer is a little understated for an imperial. Aroma is too light too. Smells grassy, herbal, almost like chives -- not the usual Cascades. Color is bright orange-carmel with a slight turbidity. The flavor follows through with the herbal quality but adds some sweet juicy malt to complement. Finish is appropriately long, dry and bitter; hints of anise and mint. A very different take on a big IPA, but not imperial.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Poured a hazy amber orangish color with a little white head. Aroma was pine and citrus. Flavor was wood, pine, resin and some citrus thrown in. Some bitter in the aftertaste. Some sweetness in the aftertaste as well. Medium body. Sticky aftertaste. Very good decent beer.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
7.5% & 87IBU. 12oz bottle, new to KC. Reddish amber color with a small white head. Aroma is grassy and vegetal with some citrus and floral notes. Strong, but not over the top bitterness. Toasty and slightly roasty flavor with herbal and grassy (almost chlorophyll) hops with a little citrus and cat pee. Bitter finish with somewhat unappealing grassy hops. Too bad I picked up a six pack of this.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 ounce bottle - $1.79 at Total Wine & More in Kennesaw, Georgia.
Appearance: Pours out a amber-orange body displaying nice clarity and topped with a sudsy, off-white head.
Smell: Well, it certainly smells hoppy, a bit like taking a whiff from a just-opened bag of hop pellets. Punchy notes of citrus, pine, and fresh flowers greet the nose. It’s almost hard to even sniff out any of the modest malts lurking underneath the excessive hoppiness of it.
Taste: Pale malts with further malt tastes of bread and biscuits and with a very fleeting toffee-like sweetness (though the accumulating bitterness eventually cancels this out almost entirely). Staunch, coarse bitterness carries with it hop flavors of distilled flower nectar, citric Florida-grown oranges, and pine needles with a slight overall earthiness to it. Eventually, the malts give way, as do the hop flavors, leaving just a bold bitterness to ride out the dry finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-plus body. Medium carbonation.
Drinkability: Well, it goes down about easily as a 7.5% ABV, 87 IBU (according to my bottle) brew possibly, which is to say not so easily. I’m happy to have had it, though happier to have had it in this smaller, more sensibly sized twelve ounce version and not that foil-capped bomber.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Clear gold, thick frothy beige head. Aroma of vegetal hops and caramel. Taste is bitter but mostly on the finish which is also slightly metallic. Has a funky taste overall. Medium body, soft carbonation.

3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
12oz bottle. The color was orange, clear, looked decent and surprisingly was not cloudy like Bridgeport IPA. The smell was stinky like an ashtray with hops in it, I did not care for it. The flavor was astringent and bitter but not hoppy in a good way. Overall, this was kind of disappointing and difficult to drink.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Sample at the brewpub. This beer is a clear orange color with a medium and foamy light beige head that dissipates steadily. Stringy lacing. Citrusy hops, pine and malt in the nose. Medium body with a moderately bitter hops character, along with flavors of pine, fruity esters and sweet malt for balance. The finish is hoppy with a lingering grapefruit aftertaste. Above average overall.

2.2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
12 oz. bottle served in shaker- poured a transparent light copper, medium carbonation, one finger white head formed and kept me company, some lacing. Aroma of hops that have seen a better day (aged), some light grapefruit, and for some reason, baby vomit. Hits the mouth with a medium body, malt is there but it has a strange twang that comes in the middle (baby vomit transposed, ugh), finish is slightly acidic but leaves alot to be desired. I was expecting alot better from Bridgeport than this mediocre showing.
