12 ounce bottle - $1.79 at Total Wine & More in Kennesaw, Georgia. Appearance: Pours out a amber-orange body displaying nice clarity and topped with a sudsy, off-white head. Smell: Well, it certainly smells hoppy, a bit like taking a whiff from a just-opened bag of hop pellets. Punchy notes of citrus, pine, and fresh flowers greet the nose. Itís almost hard to even sniff out any of the modest malts lurking underneath the excessive hoppiness of it. Taste: Pale malts with further malt tastes of bread and biscuits and with a very fleeting toffee-like sweetness (though the accumulating bitterness eventually cancels this out almost entirely). Staunch, coarse bitterness carries with it hop flavors of distilled flower nectar, citric Florida-grown oranges, and pine needles with a slight overall earthiness to it. Eventually, the malts give way, as do the hop flavors, leaving just a bold bitterness to ride out the dry finish. Mouthfeel: Medium-plus body. Medium carbonation. Drinkability: Well, it goes down about easily as a 7.5% ABV, 87 IBU (according to my bottle) brew possibly, which is to say not so easily. Iím happy to have had it, though happier to have had it in this smaller, more sensibly sized twelve ounce version and not that foil-capped bomber.

Pours an orange color with a white head. The beer is very clear. The aroma is herbal and earthy hops. The flavor is bitter hops with some earthyness, hay, grass, pine and resin. Grassy aftertaste. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Clear gold, thick frothy beige head. Aroma of vegetal hops and caramel. Taste is bitter but mostly on the finish which is also slightly metallic. Has a funky taste overall. Medium body, soft carbonation.

12oz bottle. The color was orange, clear, looked decent and surprisingly was not cloudy like Bridgeport IPA. The smell was stinky like an ashtray with hops in it, I did not care for it. The flavor was astringent and bitter but not hoppy in a good way. Overall, this was kind of disappointing and difficult to drink. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 02-12-2010 02:05:45

Sample at the brewpub. This beer is a clear orange color with a medium and foamy light beige head that dissipates steadily. Stringy lacing. Citrusy hops, pine and malt in the nose. Medium body with a moderately bitter hops character, along with flavors of pine, fruity esters and sweet malt for balance. The finish is hoppy with a lingering grapefruit aftertaste. Above average overall.

12 oz. bottle served in shaker- poured a transparent light copper, medium carbonation, one finger white head formed and kept me company, some lacing. Aroma of hops that have seen a better day (aged), some light grapefruit, and for some reason, baby vomit. Hits the mouth with a medium body, malt is there but it has a strange twang that comes in the middle (baby vomit transposed, ugh), finish is slightly acidic but leaves alot to be desired. I was expecting alot better from Bridgeport than this mediocre showing.

The body was pale bronze in color, and crowned with a three finger thick beige head. The aroma was earthy and herbal for the most part, with a bit of hay thrown in. The taste was quite dry and bitter, with some spicy notes as well. Not a lot of malt backbone, and relatively thin mouthfeel. Pretty easy to drink, but nondescript.

Slightly hazy copper pour with a white head, decent retention and lacing. The aroma on this one is not good. Very stale, almost smells like dirty socks. Maybe a little pine, a little citrus, but mostly socks. On the palate it starts off with tingly carbonation, earthy notes, rotting leaves, which make me think that there are some euro ingredients, starts off mildly sweet which leads to dry bitter on the finish. I need something more than this... when I go for an imperial IPA I want more hops and more malt. More than 8% ABV. Bridgeport is like Metallica... they had their day, but canít seem to keep up with the times...

Interesting brew...light hoppy aroma with notes of floral and pine with some subtle malt. Flavor is lacking on the hops in the front but not in the finish...very earthy and floral with some malt notes.
