Not what I was hoping for. As a big fan of Bridgeport’s IPA...I was hoping for something better. I’m a big fan of hop bombs and rarely if ever complain they’ve gone too far...but in this instance that may be the case. Aroma is huge with plenty of pineapple, citrus, grass, pine and stinky feet...strangely enough however, not in a bad way...the feet I mean. Taste pretty much falls right in line with the aroma...this is a big, over-the-top DIPA...the hops are jolting...problem for me is the finish, which lingers and is quite bitter, but not in a good way. Beer wasn’t a total loss as it was quite clean and crisp as well. With as many great beers as I have access to here in my town...probably wouldn’t pick this one up again.

12oz bottle. clear orange under a medium sized frothy white head. peachy, mandarin, juicy hop aroma. something kind of stinks in the aroma but not to extent that is ruins score. smooth. abv is well hidden. soft peachy flavors and a creamy palate. pretty darn good. a few minor flaws but mirrors a well known favorite from lagunitas.

22oz bottle
Appearance: Pours slightly hazy dark golden with a nice creamy white head and some lacing
Aroma: Pine, fruits, citrus
Taste: Pine, citrus, lemon peel. Bitterness and malts at the finish that stick with you.
I love a good hoppy beer, but this just doesn’t have the right combination of hops for my taste.

An example of a hopped up beer gone too far, as there is no balance whatsoever. Aromas of citrus hop, dough, and barnyard. The taste is floral and citrus hop with an extremely bitter ending.

Great IPA. Like Bridgeport’s typical IPA but beefed up with more gravity and more hops. Similar body, just as nice. Earthy, piney, citrus, hay. Deep amber. Nicer, thick, rich, foamy. tan. I would buy this beer again. Jan 1, 2010.

Bottle:   Reddish amber, slightly hazy, moderate foamy off-white head, spotty lacing.   Somewhat of an earthy hop nose.   Bright hoppiness on the tongue, a bit earthy, not all that bitter tho.   Has a bit of floralness as well.   Astringent bitterness on the tongue.   Not as malty as I like for an IIPA, as if thats a shocker.   I guess I was thinking it would be fresher, much like their Harvest but I was wrong.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Certainly warming.   Bigger than your average IPA, but for me not quite in the IIPA category.   Slightly biting on the finish, but not as malty nor sweet as I would expect for a bigger IPA.   Decent, tasty, but another beer that leaves me wanting more than what was there.

Bomber courtesy of kenb. Pours a hazy dark gold with a thick 2 finger off-white head that leaves great lacing. The nose is floral and citrus hops. The taste is caramel, citrus, tart grapefruit and pine. Medium semi-creamy mouthfeel. Very nice IIPA. Thanks Ken

A nice, well-balanced DIPA with the citrusy hop flavor and aroma I so crave, yet with an appropriate bitterness for the alc burn (pretty well hidden). Could be my favorite Bridgeport, today at least.

Pours hazy orange with a fluffy off-white head. Big, citrus-dominated nose. Sharp pine finish.
