4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Poured from bottle into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a golden amber color with a one finger head of billowy white foam. The head fades relatively quickly leaving just a trace of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is heaviest of a fruity smell with lots of tropical fruits and citrus aromas. Along with these aromas comes some smells of a melon as well as some aromas of a more modest grassy and grapefruit hop smell. Overall quite sweet and delicious.
Taste – The taste begins with a bready flavor mixed with some nice grapefruit hop and a little bit of pine as well. As the taste advances, more and more bitter pine hop come to the tongue, bringing a bit of a resinous taste to the beer. All the while, sweeter flavors accompany the hop tastes, with some tropical and citrus sweet tastes, as well as a bit of a candied sugar comes to the tongue. Some hay and grass and an increase in the pine and some earth come at the very end, leaving one with a rather pleasant and smooth, but nicely hopped and decently sweeter flavor to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the thicker and creamier side with a carbonation level that is on the slightly lower side. The thicker and creamier feel are fantastic for the brew and make for one easy drinking and flavorful double IPA.
Overall – This was another rather enjoyable brew by Bridgeport. I think many of their stronger (abv.) they do are rather underrated. They are flavorful and balanced, all while hiding much of the abv. and keeping a great drinkability.

Wow great smell of hops when you open the bottle, pours slightly hazy, bitterness and malt balance is good, and at 7.5%abv and 6.78 a six pack its a hidden gem and very underrated. That’s fine by me more for me without waiting in lines for overhyped beers. Good job Bridgeport!

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Smells a little fruity. Pretty dank beer with earthy hop flavor all the way through. Small malt body comes through in the middle to balance. It’s a decent drinking IPA, not much more to say about it.

While not normally my kind of brew (I’m far more partial to Eureopan beers), I must say that I am very impressed by the one thing that this highly-hopped beer has that too many others lack - balance. The pour is a honey-coloured brew, more opaque than transparent, and that bright, fresh, citrus hop aroma is very strong indeed. Fortunately, once tasted, the beer is backed by a sweet, honey-flavoured and caramel-esque malt, which helps taper the aggressive hops. The integration of the malt and hops may sound like it conflicts, but they actually compliment one another, rounding off the aggressiveness of each other. A demanding, interesting brew, and very well made.
