3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Almost didnít buy this. It was sitting next to six-packs of Shock Top, so I thought it was an InBev/AB product. Looked almost too much like ABs gluten-free beer packaging. However, it had Portland slathered liberally about it and I was willing to take my chances at $8.99. I woulda been p*ssed had it turned out to be a bad AB brew.
Anyhow, to the review...From a 12 oz. bottle from a local liquor/grocery not known for a lot of quality nor depth of selection. Poured into a Belgian snifter. Cloudy orange pour with a generous fluffy white head. Aroma a nice balance between hops and malt sweetness - even given my stuffy nose. The taste is balanced as well, especially for the style. The aroma foretold the taste. The alcohol is restrained enough to let the hop/malt balance shine through. This is a big beer, not a huge totally outta proportion beer. There is a nice bitterness that lingers. Nice lace down the glass and a tongue tingling carbonation. I would definitely buy this beer again.

2.3 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
Taking small sips, itís pretty good. Has a citrus sweetness thats unusual for an IPA. However the finish is painful and completely ruins the flavor. Gets worse the more you drink.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Piney aroma, with some sweet malts mixed in there. Hazy orange pour with a nice head and good lacing. Itís an ok IPA, not really great.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
Reviewed from notes.
The appearance had a hazy orange colored body with a one finger white foamy head that dies and leaves some sticky lacing
The smell had some bitter hops up front, but slowly combines with the malts to balance as it warms.
The taste had a more bitter than sweet flavoring, but still good for the most part, slightly dry bitter aftertaste, definitely a very dry finish (this definitely has one of the driest finishes Iíve ever had in any DIPA).
On the palate, it sat at about a medium, semi-sessionable. Carbonation seems a bit under for the style, not bad to me.
Overall, definitely not the best DIPA on the market, but still worthy of eventually coming back to, not a disappointment, just not what I expected from Bridgeport.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle: Thanks, Jeff! Yellow-amber body with a light haze all-around, seemingly more than just a regular chill haze; soapy white head trifles around on top. Aroma with strong notes of earth, dirty hops, grass, toasted & buttered biscuits, & a mild dankness in the finish. Taste follows right along with a hop profile that edges on the English side; dirt, pale earthiness, weedy grass, lightly herbal, & finishing with notes of crisp yeast, toast, & crackers. Wets the palate nicely & leads into a mainly dry finish... Decent English-style Imperial IPA overall.

1.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 2/20
Poor after taste and finish for an IPA. Nice price for a six pack about 2.00 cheaper than other IPA's.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Soft floral hoppy aroma. Initially easy on the palate although this turns reasonably acidic and continues into the bitter aftertaste. Not great, but strong ABV and cheap price.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a medium gold with decent off-white head. Good lacing. Aroma is more malt than hops with some bread, caramel, and a little citrus. Flavor starts sweet and has more of a malt backbone than some similar beers, but then a solid, rich mouth feel kicks in quickly along with a delicious stickiness and pleasantly bitter finish. A fairly complex and tasty brew.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Nice IPA with a solid hoppy kick, a good amount of flavor from pine and some citrus, long finish. Nice aroma. Solid foamy white head, lasts. Chewy mouthfeel. Not as good as their standard IPA but still quite good. From a bottle, from a variety pack.

3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap @ Barking Dog. Pours dark orange amber with thin creamy off-white head. Aroma is thick sweet dark caramel malt and earthy bitter hops. Taste is chewy lightly roasted, slightly sweet malt and deeply bitter hops with background notes of earthy pine and a bit of citrus. For the relatively low abv, this is surprisingly malt driven. Not much from the hops other than bitterness. Not bad, and easily available.
