3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Almost didnít buy this. It was sitting next to six-packs of Shock Top, so I thought it was an InBev/AB product. Looked almost too much like ABs gluten-free beer packaging. However, it had Portland slathered liberally about it and I was willing to take my chances at $8.99. I woulda been p*ssed had it turned out to be a bad AB brew.
Anyhow, to the review...From a 12 oz. bottle from a local liquor/grocery not known for a lot of quality nor depth of selection. Poured into a Belgian snifter. Cloudy orange pour with a generous fluffy white head. Aroma a nice balance between hops and malt sweetness - even given my stuffy nose. The taste is balanced as well, especially for the style. The aroma foretold the taste. The alcohol is restrained enough to let the hop/malt balance shine through. This is a big beer, not a huge totally outta proportion beer. There is a nice bitterness that lingers. Nice lace down the glass and a tongue tingling carbonation. I would definitely buy this beer again.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle from Walmart. Medium copper in color. Pungent hop nose with a little sweet fruitiness. Grapefruit bitterness up front. Not biting bitterness, but more of a balanced flavor. Midrange quaffable impy IPA.

From a bottle; pours slightly hazy gold. Persistent, thick white lacing. Aroma is a malty overtone. Taste is juicy, assertively bitter with a malty backbone.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
While not normally my kind of brew (Iím far more partial to Eureopan beers), I must say that I am very impressed by the one thing that this highly-hopped beer has that too many others lack - balance. The pour is a honey-coloured brew, more opaque than transparent, and that bright, fresh, citrus hop aroma is very strong indeed. Fortunately, once tasted, the beer is backed by a sweet, honey-flavoured and caramel-esque malt, which helps taper the aggressive hops. The integration of the malt and hops may sound like it conflicts, but they actually compliment one another, rounding off the aggressiveness of each other. A demanding, interesting brew, and very well made.

"this one likely had a little age on it. it had the requisite thick chewy body and resiny-ocity to it, but it was all bitter and malt in the aroma and flavor. the hop aromas and flavors had obviously faded. too bad - it was still decent and seemed like it could bevery pleasant fresh."

2.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 5/20
Pours a dark golden, very opaque; thick looking. Initial smells of citrus and honey coming through. Tastes of strong IPA on the back of the tongue, extremely strong bitter aftertaste. Very unique tasting! However, a fruity aftertaste would do the beer justice.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
This beer pours a deep golden colour with a small white head with large bubbles. Citrus nose and peach and a hint of caramel taste with a big bitter hit. Lovely big beer. Pity it's out if commission.

3.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Pours slightly hazy gold. Persistent, thick white head. Aroma of grass, sugar, citrus zest. Taste is juicy, assertively bitter without being overwhelming. Orange, lemon, hints of lime. Grassy, bitter finish. Crisp, clean. Lower end of the DIPA abv range, not much booze to muddle things.
