2.2 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Ar: Some pine and lots of awkward gym socks aroma. Really weird. Actually smells a bit like country ham...but not good in a IIPA.
Ap: Pours a hazy copper with a 1" frothy head that leaves nice lace.
T: Fairly sweet malt flavor up front and moderate bittering for an IIPA. Still some awkward funk.
P: Thick, fairly sticky.
O: Something must have gone awry here. Don’t know how old it wasn’t a stale hop aroma so maybe just a bad bottle. Just...odd.

Small bottle from a 24 variety pack, bought at Costco in Marysville, WA. An orange amber beer with moderate white head and faint beer nose. At first the heavy hop note is delightful, but then one realizes that the malt is insufficient. Not well balanced. 3.4

Tap at Petition - great drink - super balance - piney citrus hop dominant against competing caramel malt - easy drinker - like it a lot.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 13/20
Hazy deep gold, almost an orange-like hue, with a creamy foamy top. Big earthy and grassy hop bitterness on the aroma with a little bitter orange peel as well. Earthy and grassy leafy flavor with some earthy citric pithy bitterness, but then all the sudden there’s this orange/grapefruit sweetness and a pale malty backbone.

Bottle shared with a co-worker. Poured a clear orange color, though sediment really picked up on this one pretty quickly. Aroma was maltier than I would have expected, but a nice citrus character really comes through on it. Lots of floral hop leaf notes. Light chewy character. Grapefruit zest is nice. This had been in the co-worker’s fridge for almost a year and was still pretty solid - would like to try it fresh.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
12 ounce bottle. Pours a light copper, particulate matter and turbid. Nose of orange and a hint of pine. Taste is somewhat of an acrid bitter that coats the tongue with slime. Not the best.

On tap at the Brewpub. Hazy orange with a white head. Hoppy with grass, malt and some grapefruit. Also warming alcohol. The finish was really bitter.
