3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 xarcadia (23) - USA - APR 16, 2012
Fruity/grassy aroma. Clean taste, maybe a little citrus. Decent, but won’t be a favorite.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 leeburg (203) - Juneau, Alaska, USA - APR 5, 2012
Hazy amber, thin white head. Aroma I must say is very interesting. Not just the standard pine/citrus aromas. This is sweeter, with cannabis notes (gotta be honest), orange and lemon notes, hard candy and bubble gum. An interesting sweet hoppy beer.
4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 davidajensen (156) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - MAR 18, 2012
So Bridgeport IPA is in my top 3 favorite beers for its the citrus infused hops and the easy drinkability. This beer is an amped up version of the standard IPA. Very citrusy, a great woodsy aroma, a thick cloudy yellowish haze...mmmm. The malts and hops are well balanced and leave a clean aftertaste for an Imperial IPA. A keeper for sure.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 Cybercat (1902) - Georgia, USA - MAR 12, 2012
Malty, hoppy aroma is not strong but still promising. It pours a clear, fizzy amber with a decent eggshell-white head. Malty aroma has a strong hoppy overtone and hints of green wood and fruit. Was that a whisper of banana? Firm texture has plenty of fizz and sass, leaving a woody, hoppy, slightly bitter finish. Overall, if not outstanding, still a decent brewski.
2.6 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Fatehunter (139) - - MAR 9, 2012
I just bought this bottle so I hope it’s a 2011 because there is not a date on the label.
Poured into a tulip glass. Cloudy orange color with a half-finger of head, short retention but good lacing.
It has a musty smell, not very appealing. It has the faintest lemon smell.
The taste is nice and clean. Moderately bitter and hoppy throughout. No other real flavors coming through. It’s nice all the same.
Crisp texture. Moderate carbonation and medium bodied.
A straight up IPA. The smell was off, hopefully it’s not widespread.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 FROTHINGSLOSH (3386) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 4, 2012
UPDATED: APR 3, 2012 From the 3/2012 3R6P tasting. +++Sampled from a 22 oz brown bottle this beer poured a murky yellow-apricot color with a small white head that left no lacing. The aroma was tangy sugar, sweettart candies, light fruity hops and chalk. The flavor was tart, dryish and chalky with notes of Sweettart candies and faint fruity hops. The finish was medium length dry chalk and Sweettart candies. Disappointing.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 rougeau13 (1216) - Texas, USA - FEB 9, 2012
Unfiltered, hazy orange with a small off-white, grayish head. Though mild, it’s a mostly citrus aroma: lemon and orange, with caramel, grass and melon notes. The taste is a little sweet and very citrusy and floral with a solid bitterness. Refreshing, but a little thin, with a substantial tart/bitter finish. In sum, there’s very little malt presence in this; it’s pretty much a hop bomb on the back of the palate. That doesn’t make it bad, just unfinished seeming and way off balance.

Nice light hoppy aroma but the citrus taste is a bit over powering and think that it could have been a bit more balanced. Love the story that goes along with this brew.

At first I was unimpressed with this IPA. Nose and taste were muddy. I set the glass down and did some chores on my computer. A second sampling a few minutes later revealed a complexity in both the nose and the taste. Floral, citrus and grass combine nicely. Finish starts out earthy but brightens and sharpens after a few moments.
