3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 rumproasts (1033) - Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA - MAR 12, 2013
Tap. Golden with small head. Very rich and hoppy pils. Decent, but definitely not to style.
2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Alphadelic (1630) - Portland, Oregon, USA - OCT 4, 2012
A golden lager. Crisp cereals with a hint of corn and iron to the nose. Sweet with a nettle bitterness. The bitterness is light white peppercorn and lasts for avery short period. There is a little arugula herbiness.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Reid (1602) - Salem,Oregon, Oregon, USA - SEP 30, 2012
22oz bottle from S.Salem Freddys.$5.99
Typical pilsner..cooking oil yellow with a small bubbly white head.
Again pretty typical aromas, bready hop and a grassy hoppiness.
Not typical taste..starts off semi sweet and very malty like a helles lager, then gets some bitterness, but its not really that pleasant.like a slight battery acidity bitterness.,then fades to sweetness again. Odd
Mouthfeel is generally acceptable if not thick.
I judged this as a malt liquor and as such it is good..its a terrible pilsner however
2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 troopie (1986) - Munchen an der Willamette, Oregon, USA - OCT 7, 2012
Bottle. Full grassy aroma with a pepper and citrus note. Tang in the flavour, some pepper and a peppery finish. Some grease in the mouthfeel. Not a bad lager, but doesn’t taste much like a pilsner
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 5000 (4974) - Hardened Liver, Washington, USA - NOV 21, 2012
Bottle: Yellowish straw, fairly clear, light carbonation, moderate to large frothy white head, decent lacing. Has a rich mealy background, somewhat reminds me of white grape juice. Fairly mealy on the tongue. A little rough, fresh hops don’t seem at play in this at all. Not sure why an Imperial Pils would be chosen for a Fresh Hop type offering. I do get some soft notes of hops, perhaps a bit bright or fresh, but the mealiness overshadows it. Body and mouthfeel are moderate. I have had some not so fresh hop Imperial Pils that are much more crisp than this one. Yeah, just not a fan... would prefer they go back to either a IPA or IIPA category. Leave the Imperial Pils to the Europeans.   Mealy, beyond my nightmares.
2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 adnielsen (6194) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - MAR 9, 2013
Bottle @ home, picked up at Wilbur’s Fort Collins. Pours a pretty clear, golden appearance with a white head. Lemon, grassy/herbal, chewy grainy, slightly spicy, pils malty aroma. Slightly sweet, lemony, very spritzy, grassy, cracker, strong flavor with a bit of booze. Not sure why they hopped it up at 8% abv. Kind of disappointing.
2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 poisoneddwarf (1307) - Rathdrum, Idaho, USA - NOV 14, 2012
Bomber bought at Fred Meyer in CDA, ID. Pours slightly hazy golden with a medium white collapsing head; falls into a collar of big-bubbly foam and a little lace. Aroma is a bit skunky, hayfield, unimpressive. Taste starts out lightly sweet before becoming really bitter mid-palate and remaining that way through the long finish. Carbonation is softer than expected. Very flawed.
2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 BK7 (549) - Turner, Oregon, USA - OCT 1, 2012
Bomber. Sweet malt and light citrus up front. Thin. Some bitterness towards the end that turns a bit harsh. Finish is unbalanced and rough.
